If PPM came out in 1997 would stations that play hip hop, both Rhythmics and Urbans, be doing as poorly as many of them are today? My guess is no way...they would be doing a lot better. Hip Hop was overall fresher, hotter, and better in that era. There was a buzz on it that doesn't exist today. Don't blame the technology, blame the weak music product.
 
Don't Blame the Technology, Blame your Job . How many companies has Chr/R or Urban stations on there radio ( not many ) ? Most companies has Chr/Pop, AC or Hot AC stations on there company radio. Do the math. You listen to your Favorite station about a hour a day but you listen to your company radio about 8 hours plus overtime in a day( Well PPM think you are listening to the company radio ) . During the Chrismas season most business turn on Chrismas music format stations and these Chrismas music stations sky rocket to the top of the PPM ratings.
