If Texans/Bolts is moved to Monday night...

... would both HOU/SD and GB/DEN air live in all four cities involved? (Has the blackout been lifted in the City by the Border?)

Per http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d80394b9d&template=with-video&confirm=true ...

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The San Diego Chargers worked out, waited and wondered Thursday where and when they will play their next game.

With their home stadium being used as an evacuation center for people fleeing wildfires in the San Diego area, the Chargers went through what coach Norv Turner called "one of our best practices of the year."

The Chargers are scheduled to play at home against the Houston Texans on Sunday, and a decision from San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders on the availability of the stadium had been expected Thursday. However, no word came.

"No decision has been made at this time," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said. "When a decision is made, we will certainly let you know."

The team shifted its practices to the Arizona Cardinals' training facility Wednesday. Daily workouts are scheduled through Friday. Where the Chargers go after that remained a mystery.

Among the possibilities were keeping the game in San Diego but moving it to Monday night.

It's quite possible it can air as the second game of a "Monday Night Football" doubleheader on ESPN, which would not be new for the network, since they have led off both seasons with dual matchups.

When the Saints played their "home game" at Giants Stadium as a result of Hurricane Katrina, ABC, which still aired "MNF" at the time, aired it at a start time of 7 PM ET, followed by the regularly scheduled matchup, joined in progress. (It aired in its entirety on ESPN or ESPN2.) Correct me if I'm wrong, my memory is a bit spotty on this.

As far as this weekend's San Diego/Houston game is concerned, it's possible with some compromise, they can get the Denver/Green Bay game - scheduled at the odd time of 8 PM ET, as opposed to the usual 8:30 ET, think the World Series has something to do with it - moved up an hour, and allow the San Diego/Houston game to start at 10 PM ET. Or even if it starts at 11 PM ET, it's still starting at 8 PM locally, so it may not be a big deal after all.

Unless you're a Texans fan, which in that case, you'll probably end up late for work Tuesday.

I thought they were playing the game in Phoenix this week. ???

Nope, the Chargers have been practicing in Phoenix all week as the air quality in SD really stinks right now. I have heard people say that the Glendale stadium is booked this weekend and could not be used because of motorcross. While that may be true I have not seen anyone suggest using Sun Devil Stadium instead which the Cards used for years.

...if the Chargers do manage to use Sun Devil Stadium, they'll have to pay one helluva price to ASU for it. ASU was greatly relieved when the Cardinals moved to Glendale...
