If The River flips formats and no one is listening...

The River 92.9 is now 92.9 TOM-FM...hits of the 60's, 70's, 80's 90's and today...Format #4...Knowing the way that this faction of Clear Channel works, nothing will change other than the name...the staff, the music, the 0.0 ratings...

CC Delaware has really gone cheaper than usual lately. Add this, with the fact that WDSD decided to hire no one for a new morning show, and just go syndicated. From a reliable contact there, people were interviewed, some multiple times, and then simply left out to dry.

If a computer could sell spots all by itself, I think CC would be a one-person operation.

I stopped listening to the river because I knew whenever I turned it on I'd hear yet another overplayed song I've heard a million times. Maybe Tom's playlist will follow Jack, Jill, Ben, Alice and other name stations in playing a song I haven't heard in years and do it enough times to keep me listening. ;)

Re: TOM-FM (92.9) and WDSD

With a 48 year spread of music to choose from, TOM-FM should be able to play a bunch of oh wow songs and hold a listener's interest. It will be interesting to hear the mix. Will it be equal between each decade, or will it favor the 60's-70's with the newer songs less prominate, or will it favor the 80's-90's-Today with a sprinkling of 60's-70's.

I've been listening to WDSD lately (not during morning drive, so can't comment on a syndicated morning show),but have been listening during the work day on occasion when not listening to Talk on WDEL, WILM, or WHYY-FM and have noticed that WDSD is playing a good selection of country gold from the 90's and 2000 mixed into their top 40 country format. This makes their format not as repetitious as the typical top 40 country station making the burn out rate much slower to occur, plus it's good to hear those songs again.
