They probably did vote, but supermajorities in big blue cities does not equal winning a national election. The marches around the country aren't going to flip Republican Congressional districts to Democrat. There were marches even in Tennessee, but Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis and Chattanooga won't elect a Democratic governor and legislature next time out.

Most of the marches were certainly in places where Hillary dominated. Social media shows plenty of women who disapproved of many things said at the marches, but it doesn't appear that they were moved to create a counter-demonstration. Media will have a tough time covering them if there's no event representing them, so one side of the discussion will get most of the coverage. More than likely, that coverage will solidify opposing positions, adding to polarization, instead of helping to find common ground.

I was a little surprised that some of the more rabid Trump supporters weren't counter-demonstrating but they seemed content to let the women's marchers have their day.

More than willing to let the celebs torpedo their own cause, I'd imagine. I'm a liberal myself, but I cringed when I heard what Madonna said. I prefer my entertainers to stick to entertaining and not to pretend that their opinions on anything else are somehow more important that any other person's.

I agree, and I've always felt that no matter who you support, you stand a chance of alienating 50% of your potential fan base by taking a side. We also saw a lot of the other side at the inauguration concert on Thursday. Having said that, the organizers wouldn't get the kind of crowds they did if the only speakers were Gloria Steinem and Elizabeth Warren.

Liberals may love their entertainers with political opinions, but conservatives elected a reality TV star to be President. He certainly had no qualifications.

Oh, good. More political discussion. I came here because I'm not getting quite enough of it on Facebook and Twitter.

Donald J. Trump is the President of the United States. Deal with it or choose your own alternate option.
