If you had to program syndicated news/talk/sports

in the Atlanta MSA (in other words, the big shows aren't available), what are the most popular (salable) shows out there to be cleared?

I know it kind of depends where you are (I guess Zoller isnt available to a Hall county station, etc) but in general?

Could you also consider shows poachable from a second-tier station like WCFO or the King? What about Spanish talk/sports (i.e., who is carrying ESPN Deportes these days)?

I guess you should assume that all Salem shows are locked up tight.

I wouldn't program any national syndicated talk host. Why? They all do the same thing. Either they run conservative or liberal. How much depends upon a variety of factors I don't want to get into now. For Atlanta, I'd love to take a fringe signal and play with it with local folks doing all sorts of new ideas. Sort of a "training ground" if you will, for new talent. Would it make money? Doubtful. But then, this wouldn't happen unless I won a "disgusting" amount of money in the lottery and, since I rarely play... ::)

Anyway, if I had to I'd like to run Mancow, Laura Ingraham, Phil Hendrie, recently fired Jay Severin and either Lou Dobbs or Steve Malzberg. This would depend upon who's available and contracts, etc. Overnights...George Noory. AND, I'd call it The Remnant of common sense radio and fun.

Now, back to my scotch!

WIMO in Winder is for sale...650W day/50W night. Last I heard the price was in the high five/low six figures.

Doesn't WCFO already or used to air some of these?
