If you want your remotes to always go well.......

Then you need to hire Bob Horner before anyone else picks him up. Bob is truly one of the great guys in Nashville Radio and unfortunately was the victim of budget cutting at Cumulus (I am not bashing Cumulus as they were always pretty good to me). Just ask anyone who has had the pleasure of working with him from Plaz, Pete Weber, Joe Fisher, Watt Hairston, and many more what a great addition he would make to your staff. You may not be a big fan of Vandy but their broadcasts always sound great with Bob turning the knobs. In my five years of working with him we never, ever lost a single remote (and there were many with WWTN). If you can work him into your staff I promise you that you never be sorry.

Even though I have already been listed on this thread, I just want to add my confirmation to this. Bob (or "B.I.B" - as in "Best in the Business") Horner should be considered a far more attractive free agent in this business than ANYONE the Titans bring in! If you're looking, do yourself a favor and contact Bob!

From the time we started until the sell-off of the FM's, there were over 1300 remote broadcast on these stations and there were NO remote issues or misses. As they say "on that, you can go to the bank".

I am absolutly floored at the news Cumulus let Bob Horner go. My experience in the building was that he was an employee who truly taught by example the concept of radio ethics(stop laughing the concept does exist..rare..but true!) If I were still in this business I would not only find a way to hire him but make sure he recieved the well deserved pay he never recieved at Cumulus. His devotion to making sure things went smooth and handling the worst of all situations made him a God-send on remotes. I hope someone well deserving picks up Bob and in the end this horrible decision will turn out for the best!
