What direction would you take WNCI?

I'm confused. Are you suggesting that having two failed Progressives in a market leads to beer bellies?
alans613 said:I'll agree with lovejamminoldies that WNCI isn't as local-based as they once were. I thought Joe Boxer was excellent on 'NCI until he got blown up in favor of the way overrated(and way overpaid)Ryan Seacrest. As much as i'd like to see WNCI not be so generic-sounding as they are anymore, I see them staying the course.
Lovejamminoldies...Power has been broadcasting an Urban format since the early 90s...they were originally on 106.3 in the early 90s with the same calls-WCKX-as well. They moved to 107.5 in 1997.
lovejamminoldies said:I think that's a good point. Whether or not Power beat WNCI in the book shouldn't make WNCI "panic" but I'd still be concerned. WNCI has a much better signal and is heritage. Power's only been doing Urban/Rhythmic CHR since 1997. And they weren't getting the ratings then.
But also look at Power's lineup vs. WNCI
Mornings: PMC (Local) vs. Dave & Jimmy (Syndicated)
Middays: Konata (Local) vs. Seacrest (Syndicated)
Afternoons: Nia Noelle (Local) vs. Chris Davis (Local) *GOOD
Evenings: City (Local) vs. Ty (Tracked from Chicago)
They need to get back to the NCI they used to be.

Correction:
Speaking of the Progressive Talk format, Missoula, Montana shares the distinction with Columbus, Ohio in having two failed Progressive Talkers in the market.
Thanks!

The point I was trying to make is that Tony will not change WNCI to progressive talk format. Did you see/read my entire post?
What dose that(Google) have to do with the new PD at WNCI posibly making changers to that radio station? ??? I don't get it. ???
I don't listen to Mix much. Is the Matt Harris that's on Saturday nights syndicated or local? Specialty show, or regular programming? (I could just check it out, but I'd probably forget so asking here is easierSean Gilbow said:If WNCI brought any sort of talk back, it would be Matt Harris' obsession with discussing hooshies. (Not to be confused with the Matt Harris heard Saturday night at Mix 107.9.)
