Did anyone happen to catch Russ ripping the folks on this here Radio-Info board?? He said everyone on here was "failed radio people, board-ops, or people that have stupid internet radio stations, that NOBODY listens to. And they all think they have GREAT, ground-breaking ideas! "That's not the exact quote, but something very close to it. I thought it was kinda funny. Any thoughts??
 
Come on now you know he has a point. Judging from all the hate filled posts on this board a given percentage (but not all) of the hate posters would have to be very bitter radio/ex radio people to spend this much time typing out daily/almost daily posts bashing other shows instead of making their own show (if they have one) better. :eek:

Just think of all the energy some people here [1] expended listening to shows they claim they hate just so [2] they can race to a computer & post a long winded bitter bashing (almost daily) about what these hated shows did that day.....it's sad. I guess it could be that some of these bitter posters don't have their radio jobs any more and this constant show bashing is all they have left in life.......again it's sad. :'(

I was going to make the comment about changing the channel if you don't like a given show........but that would make too much sense so carry on with the rabid bitterness. ;D
 
How hilarious. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. This is the only independent forum that even TALKS about Martin anymore, since Al Brumley died. Even HE should know that there's no such thing as "bad publicity." Perhaps he didn't appreciate all the non-supportive commentary on here about his legal issues a few weeks ago. Again, the downside of a public forum...people tend to say what they really think, and the gloves come off pretty quickly when one is using an alias.

And, you'd think that someone who's been in the biz this long wouldn't have such a soft skin. "Shock jocks" shouldn't live in glass houses. Anyone that throws their life out there for public evaluation shouldn't, either.

Then again, it musta been a pretty slow news day to even give the "losers" and "wannabes" and "bitter ex-radio people" on here any free press or credence. I'm honored...
 
Russ is a bitter man whos shows been in the toliet for awhile, when your schtick is words that sound like n***er, turning off the mics and asking your board op if its time to break, you pretty much deserve the right to be bitter. When you get accused of beating a woman, you deserve the harsh criticism from your peers, which it appears his on-air crew of sycophants refuses to do. I also agree with mike considering brumley, as since his death, noone in the media really cares about russ or daily on-air antics, save his GF beating charge.


This being said, I have no ill will towards him, in fact, I really feel sorry for the guy. His recent life plays out like a greek tragedy, one of absolute gain and total loss. Maybe this event will bring him back full circle and make him take stock in his life and career.

Check out the DFW ratings thread. KLLI is out of the top 20 12+ and out of the top 15 25-54.

Now maybe Russ's show is doing better than the station as a whole (which if so is just an indictment of how bad the rest of the station must be doing) so if someone can break out individual shows, please share with the rest of the class...

But until that evidence surfaces, I'll stay right where I'm at. Not criticizing Russ because I don't like his show, or because I don't 'get' it, or I'm not in their target audience (because i sometimes do, I do, and I am) but just because he's not getting the ratings that he used to.
 
Russ just needed some new material. Even he knows he is getting boring. the end of his time is near. CBS is only going to let KLLI fall so far and then Gavin and Russ will be out on their a.. Enough said

If, indeed, people who read this board are all failed losers, that list would include you, since you have read the board.

And why would someone so superior to us all stop by here in the first place.

He's very observant and accurate. Actually you do not have to pay very close attention to see that.
 
Where do I fall im not in any way in the radio or entertainment industry. Im just a regular listener who thinks his show sucks and is just old and played out.
 
You people are hilarious! Its funny how almost everyone here claims Russ is so irrelevant, yet this was posted and within 15 mins it already has over 150 reads and 8 replies. It is so blatant that the majority of you just have some sort of boner for the RMS...whether it be you don't like it and dont want other people to like it either...or maybe he hurt your feelings at some point...I dont have a clue, nor do care to step inside your mindset. I just think it is so funny to read the hatred riddled with self-loathing that comes out in most of these threads. Its like a car accident you just cant turn away from! So please...carry on, I'm loving it. ;D :D

When did Russ say what he said. I listened to most of the show yesterday and the only thing I heard was him talking about how the people who would turn the radio dial because they didn't want to hear Russ play a news video about a fallen SWAT officer as a-holes or something of that sort.

consider the source. i am good with russ saying anything he wants. He is up on abuse charges (with a DW), under IRS pressure, on a station falling faster than anyone thought possible AND unmarketable OUTSIDE dfw. Oh, an who in their right mind IN DFW would hire him when his station flips to another format?

Yeah, Radio-Info is the problem.
