IHeart cuts in SC

I noticed 104.9 Fox Sports in GVL seems to have eliminated their afternoon local programming. They’re running Doug Gottlieb from Fox Sports Radio in that slot now.

Madison, who tracked middays at WSSL from Birmingham, is no longer with iHeart.

Bob Delmont who tracked on WESC from Baltimore is also no longer with iHeart.

The names are still on the websites for the most part so it’s hard to tell. The only one that’s mostly been scrubbed is “Game on With John Ellis” from 104.9.

The Radio Insight site didnt seem to have a separate Greenville market list because the jocks were not based in Greenville but the disappearance of local programming on 104.9fm had to have been done from local studios. Will WSSL and WKSF end up sharing jocks now. I just saw the same guy doing PM drive on both (Aaron Michael) and both air After Midnight according to websites. Will these cuts bring the same lineup on sister stations WLUB and WCOS that I can pick up as well around home.

I wonder if the company really understood that firing one person from one station can affect a whole bunch of other stations around the country.

I find it so ironic that a company that promotes "guaranteed human" has so few actual humans anymore. And the same for "real people, real voices." BSing the few listeners they have left.

Keep in mind that before these layoffs, the company had about 10,000 employees. At the most, this affects about 500 people.

They have lots of people who do these shifts around the country. It's likely most of the slots will be filled with humans from other places.
