IHeart Media Buys Triton Digital

They are the streaming provider that powers Radio com. Things could get interesting

This is a much more detailed explanation of what Triton does.

Triton provides publishers advertising infrastructure and measurement tools, including distribution for digital-audio streams and podcasts, while dynamically inserting ads based on who is listening and audience tracking. It also operates a marketplace for buying and selling digital ads using automated technology, which will help iHeart expand its offerings to the long tail of smaller, self-service ad buyers. Triton, whose customers include broadcasters, podcasters, and online music services in more than 50 countries, will continue to service clients outside of iHeart.

So my take is that Triton will be like several other companies iHeart owns that service competitors.

I hope they don't transition to iHeart's lousy streaming protocol. Totally metallic and unlistenable.
I wonder what will become of Triton's player.listenlive.co streaming platform? Many of the stations I listen to use this platform.

My understanding is that Triton sold this player along with its AMP platform to Frankly Media a few years ago.

So there should be no change. Stations using the player are doing so now through Frankly.
