iHeartMedia clusters that have zero local personalities

You keep saying this, and I see they still have lots of personalities. What you're talking about is in very small markets.

As of 2021 they have over 10,000 employees. That's still a lot.
True and some of the Iheart Personalities are either podcast only or are doing VO work from Ihearts offices in larger markets like LA and New York.

Ok, fair comments but the end is near, IMO. This industry is on thin ice. Yes, some will hold on but the future has already been determined, and it isn’t pretty.

They need original content. They don't own music. The future is in content they own. Regardless of where it's based.

I also want to mention that Ogallala NE, Pueblo CO, and Somerset KY also lack local talent.

I don't know if the likes of Townsquare are in a shopping spree for stations...

Ogallala, NE has someone live from 9a-10a doing the Swap Shop on KOGA AM and KMCX FM. I know, "talent". Just saying they have local programming personnel in the building.

BigA, ask how many middle and small markets have reduced local talent. Yes there are exceptions, but any reasonable person understands local radio talent is almost nonexistent in markets 100 plus, beyond perhaps a morning show, usually captained by the PD. Again, not all but most. I got out of this dying business 6 years ago and don’t look back.

Temecula stations like Q103.3 and 94.5 are broadcasted via San Bernadino, where KGGI was located but the Inland stations are managed by the San Diego cluster.

Ask how many grocery stores have reduced checkout clerks. I was just in my local store, and I counted two.

I had service done on my car over the weekend. There were three lanes for service. Only one was staffed.

Shall I continue? How many banks still offer full teller services? Mine just closed their drive through.

This isn't strictly a radio problem. Yes, advertising is down, and its affected staffing. But radio isn't unique.

Let’s face it, all services are struggling. But basic services are doing fine. I think it will be 2024 until all services are back to normal. But this thread has gone off topic and I am part of it!

I think Fox Sports Radio in Miami only have the Gators and Marlins as their only local source, WIOD only has a morning show, since Miami is a latino market maybe they used their FM talent and crew to utilized the AMs

The bankruptcy was caused by the Texas group cashing out, taking the company private, and leaving the company with $20 billion in debt. Thanks a lot Texas.
it's like Westinghouse but on private equity steroids, I mean it wont be the last time that a San Antonio corporate bought out buy PEs outside of Texas. Whataburger based in SA and previously Corpus Christi bought by a Chicago firm but I didn't see a Whataburger in the windy city. I mean DFW and Houston are the biggest while Austin is growing so much so why not invest in SA? How the politicians react to iHeart moving out of SA as HQ?

@seatownmedia I worked full time afternoons/digital in market #260 for 2 years, am still on there afternoons form alaska. They have a local morning guy, a non local but pretty good VTer for middays. 2 office/sales staff and an owner who works 6 days a week.

The signal doesnt even cover the entire market ... while we dont pay for Neilsen #'s, tapscan numbers showed us that our TSL is 2x that of our competitor when i saw them... and 3x4 times most the rest of the market.

We do pretty good, going on 11 years locally owned
