IHeartRadio Access Day

The local IHeart stations in my area are heavily promoting this national one day “event“ today. The website being mentioned constantly on air has a mixture of IHeart contests, and ads for businesses all over the country.
Perhaps this is an attempt to try out another revenue stream, based on online ads?

I went to the website and can't make heads or tails out of it
 
This is the worst name for a promotion ever. Why not call it "Deals Day" or something that's clearer?

I agree. My take is the sales people wanted something to build around, and this is what they came up with. They wanted a national, cross format, cross genre idea that wasn't too specific, and they end up with mush. But at the same time, it's very important because the entire industry has been going through an advertising depression, and lots of people in all parts of the business are getting laid off. Everybody, from Sirius to CBS News to Beasley to NPR have been cutting staff. So I hope it's successful because you can't employ people without money.
 
iHeart, and before that, Clear Channel, seem to have a problem with promoting their business that doesn't come off to American's like they're speaking Greek.

One needs to look no further than "Tune in the stations between the stations". Translated: They were trying to promote HD Radio.
