iHM buying from Salem - but which station?

Immaculate Heart Media is buying 9 AM stations and 4 FM translators from Salem in 8 markets, including Houston.

IHM intends to use these stations to carry their Relevant Radio programming; the purchase will give the network reach in all top 10 markets.

The press release doesn't say which signals are being spun to the Catholic radio operator, but I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

Nice click bait title, I was thinking a translator purchase by iHeart before clicking the thread.

Besides extreme right wing politics and financial infomercials, KTEK also runs a lot of South Asian programming that will be displaced by the switch to Relevant Radio. Perhaps that could be an option for KYND?

Currently the only Relevant Radio affiliate in Texas is KIXL 970 in Austin, which has run the format since 2006.

It will be a return to religion for KTEK, which had a Christian Contemporary Music format in the 1980’s.

Note that the DFW station being sold will be KTNO 1440, not KEXB 620. Did not realize Salem owned KTNO...? Salem keeps the call letters, wonder where they will go?

Also KRDY 1160 in San Antonio is part of the sale, so Relevant Radio will have four Texas affiliates.

The KTEK sale was supposed to close during October, but we are now into November and I’m still hearing the financial infomercials in the morning and Masala Radio in the afternoon. A bunch of the other stations included in the sale have already flipped to Relevant Radio, so I assume KTEK will make the change any day now.

Target date is Wednesday November 13th.

KTEK still running the business format at a 7:30am check this morning (11/13) so the switch to Relevant Radio presumably delayed unless there is going to be a midday flip.

Tonight... Houston, Denver, St Louis and Youngstown OH will happen at Midnight tonight

Correct, at Midnight Relevant will assume control. There will be programming fill after midnight, if the hook-up is delayed.

I'm friends with one of the air talent at Relevant Radio and one of the engineers making the switch :)
