don't you guys realize WIP doesn't really care about quality. As long as they have some local hack in their at nights, it doesn't matter. Philly has been conditioned to accept bad local radio and management types think the same 6 callers preaching the same tired opinions is good radio.
It's like all the posters here who worry about the monthly format flips or jock firings from the dying music stations. Does it really matter how these stations just keep changing names, formats and jocks every 6 months to get a temporary bump in ratings before they panic again and do the same things over and over?

It's real simple...Ike Reese is a former NFL player who had his best days in Philly.
That's why WIP signed him...as well as Hugh Douglas.
Are they good ? NO...BUT.......WIP could put on females and still do well.
When your entrenched you can do these things.

His football knowledge is better than any poster on here...
And the last time I checked...sports radio is about opinions, so why is his opinion on NON Football topics trashed by you haters ?

and i really don't think he's that bad either. certainly a heckuva lot better than a lot of former players i've heard try to do sports-talk. his strength is obviously the eagles, but he does a good job paying attention to the other sports and holds his own. if the people whining in this thread actually listened to the program their opinion would probably be different.

I disagree, I think his football knowledge is certinly good, but he is not good at getting his point across...he is not confident in his own opinion. Sports radio is about opinion, but his opinions about other sports are not as crediable b/c he is so identified with football, so they are not taken as serious.
Just like Golic on Mike and Mike, I like Golic, but I cant take his baseball opinons as serious, or his NBA opinions.
I think Ike is fine as a seasonal, football Friday fill-in co-host. But to give him his own time slot is a waste.
