IKNOWITALL, Right Again!

I am out of the market only a month and more of my predictions
come true: HOLD ME!!!!! I am almost tempted to make predictions
without even being in the market anymore, I am THAT good.

Seattle PI: Fastlane and Burns sign with KBSG!
AS I PREDICTED SIX MONTHS AGO!
KJR wanted em...KLSY wanted em...several out of market stations
wanted em...YET I PREDICTED THEY WOULD STAY PUT. HOLDMEEEEEEE>

Once Stern, Robin and John and about ten other talent at Entercom
were let go, this was too easy. BJ goes to mornings on KISW, which
cost nothing compared to STERN. That freed up a ton of cash to keep
Fastlane and Burns. They wanted more than a million and had an offer
in that range, but opt to stay for just under that amount each.

Top Paid in Seattle:
Rivers 2.5 million
T-MAN 1.4 million
Fastlane/Burns 1.4 million for the pair
Andy Savage 1.4 million (still being paid through 2007)
Everyone else well under a million.

I am deciding whether to make blind predictions just with my keen
sense of the Seattle Market, though I live hundreds of miles away.
Dare to try the impossible, tamper with psychic ratings fate?
I leave that to this Board. Does IKNOWITALL go for the GOLD???
On March 20, the beginning of the astrological year do I dare
predict the top 8 stations in the book two full months before it
comes out. HOLD MEEEEEEEEEEE. I AM THE BESSSSTTTTT. I am
IKNOWITALLLLLLLLLLLL>

I vote you make your predictions.
Knew KLSY was interested in F@B, but their little
agent was a pest and they wanted too much money. Read
the PI and I wonder how Fastlane's brother Kent feels
over at STAR? He is a PD, Mornings and does a TV show
and makes about 1/2 what his brother makes as a top
tier Seattle morning talent. Wouldn't want to be at
that family dinner table on Thanksgiving! HAh!
Savage has to be laughing his a** off too. He remains
the highest paid and hasn't been on the air for a year.
Double HHHAAAH.
KLSY could have had F@B but Mr. Shorts blew it and is
stuck again. Look for major changes at MIX in March.

Congratulations to Fastlane and Burns. Scott
Burns has been in this market for years and deserves
all the money he gets. Fastlane has been the rock
of KBSG for years and deserves it too. Nice to see
the good guys get rich for a change. I would bet
Kent is happy for his brother, I understand he is one
of the good guys too, though he is rumored to spend
little time at his radio job, focusing on TV instead.
Congratulations to Fastlane and Burns on getting a new
contract. KBSG is under attack from KJR and will need
them now more than ever. Entercom, in my view, is
making some good moves. WOLF, signing Fastlane and
Burns, fixing KIRO. Might be a good year for them.

Just curious. Is there any other major market in America
where two brothers compete against each other in morning drive?
Edited by djdan on 02/24/06 05:51 AM.

Know it all, you are amazing! The best in the bizz!!!!
Question. What am I missing about the KBSG morning team. I guess I need to listen closer. For my buck, Kent and Alan, Ick, Bill Yend, and others have to be worth as much or more!

Mini compared to you oh great one!

Sure, Kent and Scott are in the same market in morning drive. But to say they compete against each other is kind of a stretch. Yes, technically they do, but it's a stretch.

Not surprising IKnowItAll knew about Fastlane & Burns' deal. Still surprised nobody else seems to have figured out who IKnowItAll really is. And if you believe the 'moved away' thing, well, yeah....right.

Why isn't Delilah on the top paid list?

What's happening there? It seems the night guy, I mean Ripvanwinkle could chime in with the latest. Didn't they unleash the morning beast!
By the way, I don't think Kent Phillips is hurting to bad, but maybe we could set up the my brother is making more than me relief fund for him, right here!

I just sit here shaking my head. How did the two of them get so much money? Their ratings are horrible and so is their show in my opinion. Entercom is cutting so many corners with budgets, yet they can find that kind of money to throw at a rather lame morning show. It's not like they even entertain all morning. They play 70% music with 4 breaks to do the same old bits (question impossible, dumb criminals, etc.) that have been on KBSG's morning shows well before they even got the slot. It's tired.

Hehe, yeah bushwickbill, whatever happened to KLSY 'unleashing' their morning show?

Great question and follow-up, mini.

bill?

How much does Ichabod make at KMPS?...

..and how much do jocks make at KIXI?

Look for major changes at MIX in March.

Interesting. Are you sure we will be seeing major changes there that soon? I was thinking more along the lines of Spring time. When R & M are available again. When KLSY could move to ROCK. Where R & M could find their new home.

I still wonder about KJR though. Could be that they will make a smart move & are working on signing Robin & Maynard. Didn't John get his start at KJR way back "when" before being paired up with Robin at KISW? Their show would be a good return to true personality-driven radio which was always a hallmark of what KJR was about. I have never understood their "more music mornings" stupid move since Pat Cashman bailed.

I'm looking forward to R & M's return to the airwaves of Seattle. But worried about hearing them back on a music station again. Just as with Cashman's failed attempt to fit into that, it's going to be a hard transition for R&M to go back to shorter stop-set talk.

Just my thoughts. Let me know if any of you have insight into any of this!

But it bills. A LOT. And as we know in this or any other business - money talks.

It sounds like you're out of KBSG's target demo. Relax.

I must not have life, here I am posting again. But since I know a little, yes John was a night guy at KJR, and the host of Levity Lime Lite. How about putting John, Robin, and Rick Hansen in the morning. Could call it "Round Robin"!!! Hey, thats why I get paid the big bucks.
