I'll Be On Another ABC (Aus) Radio Station

I sent an email to ABC Capricornia an hour ago about my "bombing in like a ton of bricks" reception from 4QD 1548kHz and in 8 minutes!! I had a reply from their bureau chief of staff wanting to do a radio interview with me. We've already recorded it. I'll post details on it's expected airing when I find out.

This marks the 4th ABC outlet I've appeared on.. the others being ABC Hobart Tasmania, ABC Newcastle NSW and ABC national News breakfast TV

Congratulations on another fabulous catch.

I hear 4QD weekly really, and unless its super clear and strong, I just pass right by it and don't even record/log it.

One of the best ever receptions of 1548kHz on my end was Monday October 25th at from 1600 to 1700UTC, which I believe is 2 to 3am on Tuesday the 26th in Emerald, QLD

Here are two clips, the first one recorded at 1602UTC: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SzA8ukI_XVjGUCvXxSKNJ3x19HZDMULT/view?usp=sharing

Here is clip 2, recorded at 1641UTC: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wCJmVkPGBHf8Eo5PM0PB2wHz1xAAbc9j/view?usp=sharing

1548 is usually the first interstate ABC station that comes in during the twilight from here in Perth, Western Australia - well done on the catch from Alaska! I look forward to some good AM dxing when I get up to Alaska sometime in the next couple of years.

Here's my ABC TV interview:

Search google using the terms "alaska radio nerd" really... and youll see the web articles

Congrats dude! Its nice to get a station (TV or Radio) that's not from your area. Gives you amazing insight into how a station does its own thing, even if its the same as the other local radio stations across the country.

I lived in Perth from 2012-2016 and can confirm this - 1548 puts a solid signal to the west coast. Probably the only eastern-states signal that comes close is 774 Melbourne.

Perth is a great place to DX. I was a lapsed DXer for many years before I moved down there, I'd be interested in hearing what you're hearing from there.
