To find another morning show for WSYB. I tuned in this morning, and nothing's changed, still boring!

Will, Thank you for totally missing my point. Rather than commenting on the quality, or lack of, on the WSYB morning show, you choose to make a comment about what I may or may not have in my pocket. Tell you what, listen to , or stream that show, and tell us if you think it has anything intersting to offer. Maybe then, you will stay focused on this thread. Thank you, I know you're a dedicated poster on this site, and we all enjoy your input.

Kid, I drink. I'm not awake during morning shows.

And you post the same damn thread all the time. You're done getting serious responses from me (or anybody) about Rutland radio.

I guess my posts are just like the host on that morning show, same thing, every day , day after day. And maybe you're right, either people are tired of my posts, or people just don't listen to that show anymore.

No bitterness, just trying to see if others notice what I do from time to time....just sayin'

Arnie baby, Call the show please, show us your stuff, lets hear what you got !! Maybe they won't be able to take a call from the famous "Johnny" that morning.. ;)

Hey Gadon baby! I would call in, but for what? There is never a topic that last more than 10 seconds, no reason to call in. For what? The weather from Proctor? I think it goes without saying, no one listens to or calls that show anymore, and in reality, why would they? Bitter? no! Factual, YES!

Hey Poon: I've watched this board and waited for 5 years to post this....
I'm curious as to what gives you the idea that anyone really gives a damn about your sarcistic opinions?
And who, other than YOU, cares about a radio no-mans land such as Rutland.?

Winners are at least IN the game, whiners are on the sidelines throwing barbs.

I could accept your opinions if it were not for the childish B.S. you provide with it.
Never a REASON for your opinion, never a SUGGESTION for improvement, never a FACT to back up your comments...just that unending dribble of cheap shots from your keyboard.

Thanks, I feel better. I'll wait for the inevitable sarcasism-filled reply.
In the meantime, I'll continue to try to make a living at something I love, for minimal pay, and the pleasure of knowing there's has-beens or never-was's like yourself to critique it from behind the veil of anonymity this type of forum provides.

And who, other than YOU, cares about a radio no-mans land such as Rutland.? (Other than me...how about YOU, again , you read, you wrote, you love me)

I could accept your opinions if it were not for the childish B.S. you provide with it. (For Childish, please see above comments from khz)
Never a REASON for your opinion, never a SUGGESTION for improvement, never a FACT to back up your comments...just that unending dribble of cheap shots from your keyboard. (For someone that claims to think of Rutland as no-mans land, how do you know I am not right?)

Thanks, I feel better. I'll wait for the inevitable sarcasism-filled reply. (It's been a pleasure)

Go get em', Poon-dogger !! It's very clear you have a soft spot for the described radio station, and the market that it serves....

Gadon, not so much a spot for that station or that market, as much as it is an appreciation for good, or in this case bad radio. Please share with us 1 useful thing that comes from that show each day. I thought morning radio was something that was talked about the rest of the day, and then looked forward to the next day. Please correct me if I'm wrong, in fact, all the other defenders of this farce of a show, please tell me what I'm missing! You all seem to line up to defend WSYB for what it ONCE was, not what it is today. Please tell me and maybe I will change my ways. Fact is, the show is tired, stale, and boring! And before you all pipe up and write, "well just don't listen to it", allow me this...I tuned it out for about 6 weeks, and then on day while coming home, I tuned it in again, and yup, same ol' same ol! Doesn't anyone in that building notice? I thought the greatest people in radio worked there! I guess not, I guess tired, boring, dull, and lazy is the norm in programming at the Great Catamount! Oh yeah, please don't forget to tell me what that morning show provides us on a daily basis that we cannot get elsewhere...Please let me know!

Poon-dogger... Not to defend the folks in the Oprah House.. Can't do that.. Just like most radio groups big and small, they are doing the best they can with what they have to work with.. Pushing out Hall of Fame Broadcaster Jack Healey was a boneheaded move on their part, though in the end, it seems things may have worked out for all parties.. Even with Jack not there, the show must go on.. Would you rather hear the syndicated the "Fox Sports Radio" feed or better yet dead air instead?? Like them or not, there are two live bodies in that studio in the morning.. There are lots of AM's out there across the fruited plain that are treated worse than garbage. Montreal, for example, just lost two 50 kw clear channel (not the company) blowtorches. The owners pulled the plugs for good and the licenses were turned in.. Have to give the Rutland folks some credit the for not cutting jobs in these challenging times. BTW do you remember the many nights of dead air on WSYB in the "Talknet" days ?? The station does have a teflon element to it.

Good lord, what were you drinking?!?

This is Rutland, Vermont we're talking about, which is not exactly a radio hotbed of talent, then or now. Name just ONE person who achieved greatness in radio in Rutland, please, I'm absolutely curious.

Expecting Rutland radio to be great is akin to expecting the local public community access TV program to produce something on the caliber of Masterpiece Theater.

Lester dude, there's lots of talent out there in larger markets who at one time cut their radio teeth in Rutland. Talent in Houston, Cleveland, Des Moines, Providence, Portland just to name a few places.. A good portion of the talent that is on the air, came to Rutland from larger markets. These good people chose to make the Rutland area home for much greater reasons than radio itself..

Gadon, you didn't name any names of radio greats from Rutland.

Further, I didn't say "who cut their teeth" in Rutland, I said Name just ONE person who achieved greatness in radio in Rutland, please, I'm absolutely curious.

Likely can't be done...prove me wrong, name ONE person who this industry would step back and say, "Yeah, that's a great talent."

Were the licenses turned in? ??? I thought that Canada was keeping the freqs to themselves even though they won't be using them. Or is that just the country keeping them around and not the licensee?

Lester, good point! Although if you ask some of the ego-maniacs at Catamount, they'll tell you how great they are. Gadon, still waiting for 1 thing that WSYB morning show does for people that you can't get on your iPhone or Blackberry or on the WWW. Furthermore, you sound like a person that knows alot about radio, can you tell me of another TALK show , that relies so much on music as a means to get to the top of the hour? The host on this show is so bored, clueless, and lacks the ability to TALK up tp the top of the hour, that the station should become an Oldies station! Tick Tock, you're on the clock people....Just 1 thing that the show prvides, JUST ONE!

Name just ONE person who achieved greatness in radio in Rutland, please, I'm absolutely curious.

Boy Lester, you're being tough on me here.. If you are looking for an answer to people who have achieved greatness in radio in Rutland. Define greatness ? Imus like proportions ? Getting mobbed in shopping in a supermarket, or being able to go to the bars in town and never pay for a beverage ? There are plenty of talented on air people in Rutland, that have been on the air for lots of years.. Up and coming talent are not using Rutland as a 'way station' as was the case 5+ 10+ years ago.. In terms of people who did use Rutland as a 'way station' to someplace better, not sure if you would know who these people are anyway...

And Poondogger, another tough customer.. WSYB still can get every 'mucky muck' in town on to talk about some event or cause coming up and give it all the shameless plugs it needs. I'm sure they get lots of thank you's for the public file as well. There's some sense of community there, as it's always been doing that for years even before the current owners wound up with the station. Maybe they are playing longer songs, going into news, since the journey to the bathrooms is somewhat of a distance than in the Palatial Palace on Dorr Drive. ;)
