I'll TAKE THE OLD 1240AM WGBB FROM THE '70s & '80s

Is that Tom Ross in the booth behind them? Isnt he the pd of that thing now? Tom is a radio war vet from way back....... ;D

what is he suffering from, he is working and has been steady for as long as I can remember...
Ive never been in that station, so is it the surroundings, or the fact that its paid programs that stink sometimes, or what?
Ross isnt a bad guy...... :-X
 
Tom is a great guy, but everyone who gets PAID to toil at 404 Route 109 these days is suffering and deserves better (well, almost everyone).
 
LOL I agree, WGLIradio! I spent 20 minutes in that building, and I felt depressed. hehe
 
Ahhh yes. WGBB. I've done a few shifts behind the board at that station...on Sunday evenings and mid-days. My first PAID gig in radio! ;D

I have to give credit to some of the programmers, they honestly put an effort into their shows. One particular Caribbean news magazine type show comes to mind...

I actually enjoyed those two hours the most. The three people who did it were radio pros down in the islands, so they keep a tight flow. Kept me on my toes, for sure! :)
 
But No one remembers. Ron Yurman ,and Nathan Scott on 1240 WGBB Freeport..

It was fun to learn radio from guys like Bob Buchman , and Gil David. then over to WNYG with Bob Ottone..
WGBB was at its Best when owned by susquhanna....
I never in a Million years would Believe when I was there at age 17 that I would still be Involved one way or another with either station in my late 40's.
Of all my teenaged friends interested in radio from way back when. Ony 3 of us are still in radio that I know of
thats myself, Jim Pearce, and Conrad Trautmann

Those were the days...
 
The WGBB people remember turned on the energy and ideas of one guy, Bill Musser. We did communiity service, we did good programs, we did audience involvement. After Bill, the thing gradually fell apart. When Susquehanna sold WGBB, it was all downhill from there. Any of you guys who remember those times knows I'm telling it like it is.
