"I'm A Celebrity..." On MTV

It appears MTV is showing off-network episodes of "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here".

Since when did CBS start airing this show? Last I checked, it was on NBC. Wouldn't NBC choose to show it one of its 27 cable networks? Or is Bravo too busy airing "Far from Fake Housewives" for the eight time?

And while I'm on the subject of MTV... Earlier today, they were airing a program called "Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Duel 2"... That sounds so disjointed on so many levels... "The Duel 2"? Why doesn't MTV just call the show what it really is: "Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Best 2 Out Of 3"?

NBC does not produce the show. British ITV does. So I guess they shopped the cable rights seperately than the first run broadcast rights.

The NBC version is also being shown in Britain as well. I guess they don't make enough low rent reality tv over there and ITV feels the need to share it with the British public as well.

And what would CBS have to do with any of this? CBS and the Viacom cable networks haven't been a part of the same conglomerate in years. Trust me, there's no relationship whatsoever between Viacom's channels and CBS. A lot of bad blood, yes.

Why, oh why must MTV or ITV, or whomever, stretch the "pseudo HD 16:9" signal back into an awful looking 4:3 for MTV SD broadcast?
It looks better streamed online from Hulu, and with fewer commercials, than on the MTVcast.

Also - I wasn't aware it was on ITV in the UK - interesting indeed! Maybe they are actually charging NBC a little less in this case, as they get some rights as well.
