I'm very RELIEVED to see your post buddy! I was worried about you
when you wrote that you were supposed to work on *THAT* Monday.

I've listened to WWL via the internet and those folks really deserve
rounds of applause for the job they have done throughout this entire mess.
Before they had listen live on their site I was relaying WWL overnights
on my internet station as there were several hundred families around this area.
Don't know if it helped or not..

I saw the shortwave frequencies somewhere..don't know where now..maybe they have them posted at wwl.com now.

Glad you are safe!!

First off, Shortwave times are on WWL's website but here is the link:

Yeah glad to hear from ya smashed.. figured you would have been dying not being able to post anything....:)

Internet is screwed up around here too and high speed depending upon the supplier is still not on in some areas .

On the 104.5, figured you would have been catching WNXX more (since it's north Of Baton Rouge and some stuff like the Gorillaz can be confused for hip-hop.. But nope no peep out of 94.3,104.5,or 106.7).. Station you caught is mystery like some of the DX I've been catching lately here...

The 1490 Classic Rock was KJIN here in Houma rocking it for a few days using one of the computer playlists for KXOR 106.3 ... few days ago ,they went back to ESPN sports however...

..and what kind of shotwave are you wanting to hear? I'm real rusty since KUSW and WRNO went off shortwave (along with most other interesting music stations) I know one that never seems to change is 5975khz at around 7pm local and that's BBC from Britain.

VOA is still going strong, and it's online now.

CBC is called radio canada international BTW....

Could brush up on your french at 7335 khz with Canada's time from Ottawa in English and French :).

On 7415, they have WBCQ which is brokered shortwave.... Interesting thing is they are supposedly relaying news coverage of katrina over their other transmitters at 9330khz and 17495khz..something to check and report on:)

But anyhow, kind of lost interest when WRNO Shortwave went downhill before going off the air about 10 years ago (still remember hearing warrant over shortwave from WRNO....) now try to DX the broadcast band instead....

My bad on the 104.5.... Hot 104.5 is running and it's running off of computer only..no ads apparently, just sweepers and music
