I'm Chris Hansen From Dateline NBC...

...and we're doing a story on men who try to meet kids for sex...

http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/living/tv/s_500760.html

"Hansen has seen the comically inept - two men walked into a room naked - and the vaguely dangerous, when a rabbi lunged to grab obscene pictures of himself he had sent online. The most heartbreaking case involved a Florida man who arrived with his 5-year-old son."

As the article says, they probably wouldn't just do a story showing someone typing on a computer and some
interviews; the sting operations and the arrests have provided for some high ratings--and embarrassment
for those who are caught. There are ethical questions but they've said on air that the group they work
with, Perverted Justice, covers themselves (they let the perv make his move, etc.) and also since it's a news
show they don't need to get permission from the suspect.
