I'M IN L.A., B!TCH !!

And what about Ginuwine "what's so different", Jay-Z "jigga what", Trick Daddy "Shut up" & "no na'an", Aaliyah "more than a woman", Trina "B R Right", and "Is that your chick" Memphis Bleak? Some good ol' futuristic sounds there..

Even Nelly Furtado "turn off the lights" Timbaland Remix and "get ur freak on" Missy Elliott ft Nelly Furtado, and even P!NK was doing it with some of her songs, like "There you go". Oh, and Mya "Case of the ex"...
I remember Ginuwine's What's So Different "The Beat" used play it alot in 1999. I'm a hard core fan Trick Daddy's Nann since 1999 Trina tore that song up with her rap and that's she got noticed. I love Trina's B R Right especially the video brings back memories of the old 106 & Park. I like all those songs you mentioned.

BTW Shade Sheist had a song called "Money Owners" featuring Timbaland which had heavily rotation on Power 106 during the spring & summer of 2002. Remember that joint?

Don't remember that one, but I remember Kurupt "girls all pause" and "behind the walls". I believe Sole "4, 5, 6," had a touch of that futuristic sound, and I remember the first time I ever heard "silly ho" by TLC on 100.3 The Beat. What got me hooked on The Neptunes was ever since I heard "Superthug" by Noreaga. Also, "bigger than hip hop", and Dru Hill's "You are everything" remix...

Right now on 90.7 KPLK, there's some pure house music (no Ke$ha or Lady Gaga...etc. remixes) with some urban sounding chick on the air.

Noreaga's Superthug still goes hard after 1998, that and Nothin' from 2002 and his debut single N.O.R.E. It's been a while since KPWR played Noreaga. The last time I heard Kurupt's Girls All Pause on KPWR was on April 8, 2002 that's when they debuted Shade Sheist's "Money Owners". I heard "Behind The Walls" on KPWR in March on the day Nate Dogg died. R.I.P Nate, Hip Hop needs you. BTW anyway KDM Remember Nasty Boy Klick's Lost in Love from 1998?

Yes. "Lost in love" was a big Az. hit on Power 92 and 103.9 Arizona's Party Station. I once had the original single. Now I only have the Miami bass remix. I still miss hearing "they ain't ready" by Bubba Sparxxx and Timbaland, "I got love" by Nate Dogg, and "Cross the border" by Philly's Most Wanted. "There she goes" by Babyface was also a good one.

Not sure who produced some of the following, but I also loved:
"In my projects" - Coo Coo Cal,
"oh no" - Pharoah Monch,
"Lay low" - Snoop Dogg,
"It's over" - Kurupt ft Natina Reed

"If I could go" - Angie Martinez,
"Can't deny it" + "This is my party" - Fabolous,
"Addictive" - Truth Hurts,
"horse & carriage" - Cam'ron
"Gotta get thru this" - Daniel Beddingfield,
"fill me in" - Craig David,
"What's luv" - Fat Joe,
"between me & you" - Ja Rule,
"grindin" - Clipse,
"the whole world" - Outkast,
"doesn't really matter" - Janet Jackson,
"Uh huh (remix)" - B2K,

"Po' folks" + "Aw naw" - Nappy Roots,
"deliverance" - Bubba Sparxxx
"Candy" - Foxy Brown,
"It's so hard" - Big Pun,
"Doctor doctor (party mix)" - Dj U-Neek ft Gemini,

Good memories there...
I remember all those hits you've mentioned above but Martin Mac has the answer to your question. KGGI plays Nasty Boy Klick's Lost In Love on occasions. I'm pretty sure "The Beat" played once or twice in 1998. KPWR played it during Poco Pero Loco radio show in November 2001. KHHT plays it during "The Art Loboe Connection". Remember B2K's Gots Ta Be & Why I Love You from 2002? "The Beat" showed a lot of love to B2K.

Thanks. So if there are many songs with Timbaland / Missy style beats not done by Timbaland or Missy, it's very funny to see how many people Timbaland and Missy influenced to improve and change their style! I wonder who produced "kiss kiss" by Chris Brown?

Notice how it was also Timbaland and Missy who kicked off this whole new generation electro-pop / dance sound as well in 2005! Remember when "sexy back" by Justin Timberlake ft Timbaland and "lose control" by Missy Elliott ft Ciara were pretty much the only two uptempo hits in rhythmic and top 40 before others started jumping on the uptempo trend? And I wonder who produced Ciara "get up", LL Cool J "control myself", and "Fergalicious" by Fergie? What about Ne-yo - "closer"? I think Akon and Pitbull took the whole new electro sound and made their own style of it. Lil Jon kind of went the Dj Class route and started making Baltimore Club Music sounds...

Timbaland produced Justin Timberlakes sexy back, isn't it obvious bro ::). KJLH played Justin Timberlake's Sexyback in high ratation in 2006-07 did your Urban AC radio station in Pheonix Arizona play Justin Timberlake's music? Anyway remember Ms. Jade's hits called "Big Head" & "Ching Ching" from 2002? KKBT 100.3 The Beat & Power 106 played those hits every hour.

I know. That's why I used that in the reference to him and Missy rejumpstarting a whole new dance trend by coming out with songs like that while most people were still on slow music bpm's!

I remember both of Ms Jade's hits, but as far as I remember, they never really fully took off in Az. Was Stagga Lee big in L.A.?

I don't remember Stagga Lee, what did he come out with?

It was a pretty dumb song called "roll wit MVP". To me it was the biggest unintentional joke record of that year (and I think that was the same year Afroman released "because I got high".

I remember Afroman's Because I Got High very comical. Because I Got High was a summer anthem in 2001 on both KPWR Power 106 & KKBT 100.3 The Beat. Did Afroman take off in Arizona in 2001?

Yes, it did. The Stagga Lee song didn't come out until about 2002 or 2003 or something like that.

He wasn't a big name in Los Angeles. KKBT didn't play him and neither did KPWR. Oh remember Keke Wyatt's Nothing in This World from 2001-02. 100.3 The Beat was all over Keke Wyatt. Remember that joint.

The Keke Wyatt track didn't make it in Az. Probably strictly urban material. We lost Majik 107 before then.

Thats funny because our KMJK 107.3 in Kansas City is label after your Pheniox station and Tom Joyner was on it too. When Cumulus took over KMJK Kansas City verison in 2004 they corrected the spelling to Magic instead of Majik which I still dont understand. But that Keke Wyatt song with Avant was a hit on Urban radio never get tired of it.

Don't for get Avant & Keke Wyatt's cover of Rene & Angela's My First Love from 2000. It's so hard to believe she was only 17 years old she hit the scene. I remember Adimu on 100.3 The Beat saying that they're the Marvin Gaye & Tammy Terrell of this generation back in 2001 when he first started playing Nothing In This World.
