Well You guys convinced me to go legal and turn the FM off, and I am currently in the process of the paper work for Sound Exchange,, BMI ETC,,, I have a decent online audience so the FM in this little farm town isnt really needed,, Now my audience is worldwide,, Was chatting with 2 people from ireland yesterday morning.. I posted my link in the thread on internet dance stations and am looking for sugestive critisizm, I still have alot to learn.. I apologize to Brett and or anyone else I was disrespectful too,, On the other hand,, I will remain allies with my Pirate Friends,, im not gonna snitch them out or nothing,, its just net only is the way to go for me,, I dont have to worry about the men in black dragging me outta bed and raiding my house...hehe If you guys no anything about how to do shoutcast or can find an affordable server,, let me know.. I will remain in ustream for now,, my direct link is below in the net radio thread,,, I dont feel like spamming the board with shameless self promotion.. I am still trying to get a LPFM license,, but it looks to be DOA as all the usuable frerquecys have been grabbed up.

Not sure I get this. If you haven't completed the SoundExchange paperwork yet, which from my understanding is at least $2,000 for approval and don't have a licence from ASCAP, BMI and SESAC yet, how is it a legit station?

Please enlighten me.

It will be legit very soon, and it is now a streaming only station.. All of our music comes from CDs ive bought myself,, and or Promo Only,,.. But I was surprised that the license was actually afordable,, I was thinking it was something like 10 grand,,, Also Loud City has affordable solutions, and the roylayties are not bad either... I really regret going Pirate FM so long when Usream is easy and free and the license are easy to get,, you dont have to qualify,, just show them the money...

Don't regret running the pirate station, if you keep it off the rest of your life, you'll have a 0% chance of being busted. Heck, I ran a pirate for a year back in 2005.

I have no regrets,, and I still am allies with other pirates,, but the risk isnt worth it when it is easy and afforedable to go legit streaming,,

Speaking of pirate stations, are you still playing dance music with no station identification? The Trenton pirate's still on as of today afternoon. You're not completely legit if there are other pirate stations streaming your station.

How many pirate stations relay your stream?

None that I have given permission too. Whats to keep any pirate from relaying a Legit net stream,,, And yes it is still pure dance with no Idea's, its a simple mp3 player plugged into the mic output.... Crude... Yet Affective.. I think im gonna go with Loud City,, something affordable that charges a monthly fee,,, I am about 700 short of my ASCAP BMI License..
