I have worked with John and agree that there are very few that work as hard and are as dedicated as he is. He deserves more of a chance that what he has been given.
WMC2006 said:I have a comment on your website on the Company Background summary. Once again, much like your resume, you have an issue with sentences and sentence fragments:
"Jordan Broadcast Services was formed in November of 1998 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina by John Richard Jordan. Who at the time worked for two local radio stations."
Who at the time worked for two local radio stations : That is not a sentence. If you punctuated it with a question mark, it could be a question but I'm guessing you aren't asking people to guess who you are talking about. Here's how it should read:
Jordan Broadcast Services was formed in November of 1998 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina by John Richard Jordan who worked for two local radio stations at the time.
or
Jordan Broadcast Services was formed in November of 1998 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina by John Richard Jordan. John worked for two local radio stations at the time.
Or something to that effect. (Which also isn't a sentence ;D ). You understand what I'm driving at?? You seem to have a real problem with sentences and sentence structure and it's out there for everyone to see. Maybe it doesn't bother everyone but it bothers me. :
So, once again, much like on your resume, write in complete sentences, and work the summary so that every sentence isn't John John John (like I I I on the resume).
You have your services bulletized. That's how your resume should have looked in the first place.![]()

the internet is waiting to catch up with ya bro.
The site still says:Jordan Broadcast Services was formed in November of 1998 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina by John Richard Jordan. Who worked for two local radio stations at the time.

Don't ever let one persons inability to see what's happening positive here derail
what this board was started for in the first place...an exchange of ideas and a
source for help from time to time...
Best of luck Double J!

I was just trying to help.
I can't see why some other peops don't like to see other peops helping other peops, but that's the way it is.
Keep the thread going as long as someone somewhere is getting benefit from it.
I mean, this is the internets, how often does that even happen, anyway????
OK so I overlooked a period and needed a lower case w. Now it is truly fixed and I will offically end the topic. I will be working on the resume and I will post my final draft.

1- Use Word (or some other word processor) to write narrative for your website. Then run spell and grammar checker. It will find things like run-on sentences, misspelled words, and incomplete sentences. Once it is fixed, cut and paste into the web design software.
2- Learn to use something like Dreamweaver (or whatever Adobe calls it these days). You can usually find a decent class in the local community college's continuing education program (if not there, try the business center). One caution, be prepared to put up with a few computer idiots in the class.
Good luck.

That's a good place to start at learning HTML and CSS. All I use Dreamweaver for anymore is HTML editing, not graphical editing. If you still have the mindset that allowed you to learn other programming languages then HTML/CSS will be a breeze for you.
