K-Rock2 (June 2006-November 2009)
Its over. As I was greeted by new Creed into Bends-Radiohead into new Alice in Chains this morning, I decided to take a good long break from K-Rock. I have many fond memories of K-Rock2 and they introduced me to many new artists, including:
Spoon
Modest Mouse
Klaxons
Vampire Weekend
MGMT
Death Cab for Cutie
Snow Patrol
Kaiser Chiefs
Phoenix
The Shins
Alas, it is all gone now. But what a ride, three years worth of actual alternative programming is scarce, and only comes through once every ten years! Sadly, now K-Rock2 has become K-Rock, the failed terrestrial frequency never attracted an audience with its music format. And, much like how I couldn't listen to K-Rock when it was on 92.3, I can't listen to K-Rock over the Internet. As of now WFNX will be my go-to alternative station, unless someone can point out to me a better alternative.
