IMAGINE DRAGONS- IT'S TIME

Two years ago, I would have said that this song wouldn't have a shot at CHR. Given the success of bands like Fun and Gotye, though, does anyone see a chance of this crossing over?

It has a young sound that is reminiscent of MGMT or Foster the People, so I think it stands a shot...

The only thing I can find in common between this and Foster or MGMT is that it's a hit at Alternative. I don't think it will do much at CHR or Hot AC, in 2001-02 it would have done well at both. Great song, but I don't see this being much of a crossover. I was wrong about Gotye, though.

The vocals reminded me of Art Alexakis of Everclear. I agree with the previous post. It is a good song that would have had a better chance 10-15 years ago. It's growing on me, but I have my doubts it will catch on at CHR today.

I know it is getting airplay at U93 in South Bend....but they are a lot more friendly to alternative rock product than most CHRs.

The song is going to be featured in the season premier of Glee. Perhaps it will get a boost in airplay and download sales, much like Gotye and Fun. did from that show.

That very well could be the case. The first time I heard Fun "We are Young" was on "Glee". I'm not even a viewer but I had turned to Fox waiting for "New Girl" to start and caught the last song and thought it was catchy so I seeked it out on iTunes.

This song may have crossover life on CHR yet to come. Not only was it featured on Glee, but it will also be featured on the soundtrack of the up comming teen-based movie "The Perks of Being a Wallflower." I think this will drive CHR adds for this song. I think it has a sound that could work on CHR. I personally love the song myself.

It’s a rock track so it should be expected it will be more difficult to chart on CHR. It won’t get the “easy pass” that a rhythmic hit song would get.
