iMediaTouch version 3

OMT released iMediaTouch 3 earlier this week. Anybody had a chance to look over the new version?

Looking over the features list, I don't see a lot that's compelling. Importing lots of cuts into a rotator would be nice, but only rarely useful. For example, when new imaging is added. Still not Vista compatible. :-\
 
Someone else may correct me, but I can't think of any of the well-known systems that will run on Vista. MediaTouch originally stated that they were working towards being Vista-compatible. I don't know whether that is still true. Version 3 is pretty much MediaTouch 2.6.3a plus a couple enhancements and a couple bug fixes.

In the wider business IT world, Vista has pretty much been rejected. Most larger shops are utilizing XP SP2 even on new installs. Like NT4 did, XP Pro seems to have pretty much hit a level of stability that IT folks are comfortable with.
 
I don't know of anyone of the big systems supporting Vista. My understanding most radio automation will require heavy rewrite to support vista due to the DRM changes and how the audio subsystem works in the new Vista OS.
 
That is an easy answer... NO ;D I would not switch to Vista!

Before I came over to the much more fun world of broadcast engineering, I lived in IT land as the network/systems engineer for a large school district. I can tell you that I (and my replacement) will not be going to Vista. There is no reason to. XP SP2 runs just fine, and switching will present nothing but problems. In fact, I still run some Windows 2000 SP4 stuff just because it is so darn stable.

I second XP/2000. All out systems (MediaTouch) run XP SP2 and I still use a 2000 SP4 machine at home. It originally had Vista, but almost none of my apps ran well on it, including Selector. Selector was a complete disaster on Vista.
