Ex-Cat employee: "They're crazier than Am-Way people."
It's a station that relies on cheap-ass gimmicks like naming jocks after streets or various forms of cat.
They're exceptionally proud of themselves, too. I can buy a spot on XBM, TK, and WTKE for the same price as one of theirs.
But then again, they have to play for their 13,000 billboards somehow. It's where all the profits are going.
I know the people at WCOA and us at WTKE are really, REALLY sweating the .1 they'll steal from both of us for their AM. Of course, it'll show up as a top 10 station, top 5 in demo in the telephone survey they flood the market with.
You know the one.... WAAZ uses it in Crestview, they use it in P'cola.... you'll recognize it. It's the one with the huge sample size (credit for that) and with stations who pay for it considerably higher in the ratings.
(I'll crap my pants at 5:30 if WAAZ is top 10 in teens).
Here's the facts on the "Cat"
1. They suck.
2. They waste money
3. Anyone here can get a full-time job, based on having another radio station on our resume
4. A drug culture is prevalent in the building, more than some of the places who are known for it
5. They're fighting a battle to be #1 when they need to figure out how to maximize #7.
6. They suck. Wait, I said that already.
