BUT...this is just sad. Especially in the same market just days apart!
Cumulus Toledo's WRWK/1065 The Zone is doing the "12 Days of Axe-Mas", which is on now thru Dec 15.

Here's the rub. Clear Channel's WIOT, who is currently w/o a PD, is going to do the SAME promotion - starting 3 days before the ZONE's contest ends.

If that's not bad enough...when does the Fall book end? That's right, Dec, 14 (or 15). What's the point in having a promotion start just days before the book ends?!? The contest will wrap before just before Xmas, when no one is around or really caring about a radio giveaway. I see where WIOT's thinking was...12 days, we'll start at Dec 12, etc, etc. NO NO NO!
Who wins this one? The Zone, for originality with the promotion (for that market) and getting it scheduled properly to end when the book ends. Word is the WIOT APD/MD engineered this promotion. I would think those at The Zone are rooting for the 'IOT APD to get the PD gig.<P ID="signature">______________
