Important Braves Announcement?

94.9 The Bull and 640 WGST, right now have on the top of their web pages,

Braves Alert: Listen to The New 94.9 The Bull Monday morning at 8am for an important announcement about your Atlanta Braves.

Braves Alert: Listen to 640 WGST Monday morning at 8am for an important announcement about your Atlanta Braves.

What's the big announcement?

Well maybe they are moving the braves to Project 96.1 or maybe "NewsRadio 94.9 WGST" is on the way.

I doubt it is anything special but I will try to listen.

The Braves will leave the Bull and rejoin 96.1 for this season.

if that were the case it wouldn't be on the bull's website. no station ever telegraphed what they aren't doing.

I heard a promo on Project 96.1 saying the "Braves will sound different this season." Could it be a triple cast?

Of course the way the off season went for the Braves, 96.1 will probably decide at the last minute not to air the games.

Or could it have anything to do with hype they might be building around the new broadcast team?

Got it from a CC source who is supposed to know such things. Braves leave the Bull for 96.1, regardless what the website says today. They fired most of their web guys anyway.

Three words come to mind...format flip immenent (most likely for 96.1 - CC has a storied history of flipping their best performers and top 5 stations abruptly). WGST-FM 96.1 come Monday?

If not a flip...we all know CC couldn't operate a television remote or a flush toliet, let alone program a radio station (in Atlanta). Are they really going to put the Braves on a station playing heavy metal? Are they that stupid?

No flip, no FM for WGST. Just switching the Braves FM flagship. It's really that simple. The Braves were on 96 Rock before jumping to the Bull last season, so it's not that far fetched is it?

So that was it? The Braves are moving to Project?

Lame.

Not quite. Bets on how long it takes GB and the morning crew to chafe(e) at the taste of Braves ass? Must be nice to be in the final year of a contract and whatever resources you have are gobbled up by a mediocre baseball team. Enjoy the long season, boys. Stay classy, CC.

how will this affect Q100?

I don't know, Littlejohn, but Marc Lehmuth showed me this thing with a million wires at the 99.7 transmitter site last week, and he said you created it! He explained what it does, and I had no idea what he was talking about. But, I'm pretty sure that affects Q100.

Seems since CC Atlanta got the Braves rights, they have lost money,so I don't see the contract being renewed. I'am a Braves fan but CC is going to have to drop them if they want to become profitable again.

So I am assuming you work for CC Atlanta then since you know they have lost money in the Atlanta cluster or are you assuming since CC lost money overall it must be the Braves fault because if that is the case it must be Rhubarb's fault that Citadel has been losing money.
