What the hell... tell everyone you know. It's so unbelievable, I don't think even I believe it.

First a little background...
I am a business associate with Mr. Spinnato. That's not Spinnato, formerly of WRNO, but rather his father.

He dropped by my work today for another matter and of course I asked what was up with Spinny and the station.

But before I get into that...

Did you guys hear Rod Ryan's "farewell" this morning at the end of his show? I am paraphrasing here, but what was said is that he wasn't sure if he would be on the air in the morning or not. He thanked everyone for their hard work in getting the show on the air on 'RNO each morning, and also thanked the listeners for listening. I almost cried... not really.
So ... is this just more publicity crap?? Who knows? But I did notice that there was no mention of the Rod Ryan Show after he signed off with his, "A M F !".
No sounders promoting the show, no "Here's what you missed on the Rod Ryan Show".

Sooooo... back to my conversation with the big Spinnato.

He told me that Spinny will be doing some behind the scenes with the station still. How long, no one knows. He also said that he has been offered an interview at another local station. Not really that local. More like in Houma. OK, OK ... you pulled it out of me. The station is 106.3, KXOR (I think the call is correct). But Spinny still has to interview for the job and land it. So we may hear him on the air out of Houma soon.

The real news is who is going to be on the air on WRNO when they finally do make the flip to talk radio. You guys ready for this??

I forgot to tell you who will be the new voices on WRNO.

Look for mornings to be hosted by our very own convicted insurance commissioner, Jim Brown. Un-freaking- believable, huh??
Then covering the mid-day slot will be Andre Treveign.
Amazing, isn't it?
Like I said in the above post, this is what was told to me by Spinny's dad.

As far as the date of the flip, he wasn't able to give me a specific date. Just that it is going to be soon, like it's been said before.
Only time will tell.

Maybe CC can get EWE to do a live show from his personal jail cell as well. Hell, why not put all of our convicted elected officials on the air. Should make for interesting calls form the audience at least.
 
A little bit of honesty here. I overheard someone telling a coworker all this info. I don't know Spinnato's dad personally. I can't confirm any of this because I was evesdropping on a conversation. I got my ass chewed out because of this post. I don't know if Spinny will get fired over it or not. Although, I hope he won't. I was just attempting to fill everyone in on the news here.
Hopefully the emails to the moderators will be answered and they will remove the posts before Spinny gets fired or something.
 
Don't beat yourself up, dude. It's not your fault if a radio employee has been gossipping and spreading company secrets. :-X :-X :-X
 
Go 'head and beat yourself up. Nobody told you to post this rumor, in bold, in three e-mails no less. Rumors and half-truths are expected in a board like this, but you have seriously undermined any credibility you may have had with this reckless post.
 
What credibility? This is a message board, not the Washington Post. It comes with the territory. How many times was this flip supposed to happen?
