Anyone taken notice of what they have done over the last 6 months or so?

Besides solidifying their signal on AM 1060 with a significant boost in power, they have also added some new program content and they seem to have upped their commerical inventory greatly as well.

I'm new to this board and used to post on the old denverradio.net thing that shut down so it's nice to have another forum here. I can only hope that there is not nearly the mud slinging and vicious name calling on this board that there was on that one.

Well welcome to the other board. :)
This is on is very well watched, and monitored, so you won't find any cussing or name calling like you did in the past on Denverradio.net.. Besides Denverradio.net turned around majorly and it was a nice place to visit and post.

So 1060 is better then ever now huh? cool! I am glad they improved themselves with a singel boost and with better programs.

RCN AN INTERESTING CASE STUDY

Radio Colorado has been an improved entity over the last several months but they still seem to be only scratching the surface in terms of their potential as a Denver/Colorado radio outlet.

They cover nearly the entire state with 5 stations and as was pointed out they recently upgraded their Denver signal in a dramatic fashion.

However the bulk of their programming is information driven to include mostly financial talk and advice, which after awhile, if you are not in that industry leaves you bored out of your mind!

I would imagine that most of their on-air stuff is paid for programming.

I really enjoyed the Alex Jones show and cannot for he life of me figure out why they canceled it. I know Jones was not a paid program so maybe that explains it?

But they are an interesting radio group to keep your eyes on because if they ever decided to go mainstream commercial with their programs, they could become a major player instead of only a bit player as they still are in their present mode.

Ron Nickel is the operations manager of the group and while he has increased profits no doubt and made their Denver signal one that they can contend with, he has on the other hand failed to capture the imagination of the market based upon programs that are less than compelling for the most part.

There isn't one must listen to show on their roster...although "business for breakfast" is a pretty lively affair that covers the business sector and also entertains at the same time.

If they ever went all news or all sports, or even all talk with various shows, they would be more than on the radar at that point and a player that could compete for more financial gains through sponsor related acquistions.

Like I said, and interesting case study.
