Improved FM signals?

Which South Florida non-coms will be increasing their signals when WTVJ abandons channel six and goes strictly digital on UHF?

probably all of them but the frontrunners will probably be wlrn 91.3 and wvum 90.5

WLRN is already maxed out, as they predated the old WCIX by many many years.
WKCP could go higher, perhaps share an antenna with WRTO.
WRGP might be able to work something out with WAYF.
I think WDNA would have to negotiate with WQCP.
WVUM is most likely to benefit if they can work with WAFG & WXEL.
I do not see any IF (10.7 MHz) spacing issues.

Does anyone have any more definite thoughts on what will happen?

What about Piper High School's WKPX 88.5 in Sunrise?

They're still at 3kw at 90 feet, and there's info about a dismissed CP to go to a C3 at 25kw on Recnet.com.

Then again, there's that 88.3 out in Pennsuco - WGMK??

Even WMFL, that 88.5 in South Dade could benefit.
If nothing else, WKPX really needs to get that antenna up to 100 meters.
If I remember correctly, 'KPX had a 10.6 MHz issue with WEDR when they launched service and about the same time, 'EDR moved from a stick at 1448 NW 36th St, over to the Gannett Tower.
Still, channel sixes going dark around the country should give opportunities to a bunch of non-coms.

The 'KPX CP is for a directional signal pointed north so they won't be affecting 88.3's protected contour.

Stations such as the two South Florida 88.5's should at least elevate their antennae to their maximum allowable heights.

I've seen the KPX tower at Piper High. No higher than 100 or so feet. Where would you stick a stick like that in West Broward that would city grade at least 50% of Sunrise??

A bunch of towers already exist:
The original WCKO tower @ 44th St & Rock Island Rd might still have an unused FM antenna on it
Plantation police department @ 80th Ave & 4th St is 450' tall
A couple communications sticks by Markham Park
