improved HD AM FM

I thought new transmitters & receivers were coming
that were supposed to improve HD AM FM signal quality & coverage.
I seem to recall hearing that.
 
I am impressed with the Pioneer Supertuner 3D in my car, 70 mile FM HD. Almost 100 mile AM HD off one X-bander, but only when there are absolutely no power lines by the road.
