Improving Audio quality

I have the s50 sirus radio.
I have a curious question for you guys.
Is there anyway to improve the audio quality of siruis?
I tried connecting my headphones on top but it sounded the same as the digital transmitter through fm radio (via the dock)
I have not been listening to it much becouse the audio quality is like a 20k internet radio stream. I find that fm radio/cd's sound a lot better than the aduio going through my sirus radio reciver.
thanks

p.s. any of you have any help on how I could get a dj'ing job at sirrus. drop me a line

What channels are you talking about? The music channels and Howard 100 sounds fine to me, Modulator or direct in. The talk ones are AM-radio quality, which goes to the expectation of the audience's ear, because most talk is on AM.

I love this.

Are you somewhat out of your wheelhouse?

That's why I won't buy Sirius yet. Once they can figure out how to make all of their stations the same volume when you switch from channel to channel then I may consider it. Not to mention I agree, listening on my friends reciever driving back from Vegas...I was very disapointed in the audio quality on Sirius.

Another 5 years and Satellite will be outdated by wireless technology anyway. Unless Satellite incorporates on demand two way communication and considering they can't figure out how to make all their stations the same sound level...I doubt that will happen.

get an eq from crutchfield..that wil help a lot.

You have to be more descriptive than that. What is wrong with the audio? What is bad about it?

Yeah, well, you gotta be in it to win it.

And that's kinda hard since there is no service named 'Sirrus'.

reception good
but the audio sounds like a low band intenet stream of (for example) an fm radio station online. like Audiopak said the "audio" quality. why doesn'the quality of sirirus sound like listening to regular fm radio or a cd thanks

Actually, I'm an audio engineer, and I have no problem with the music channel quality on SIRIUS. At the very least, the music is akin to a VBR MP3 stream-high quality. Again, if you want to give me a specific example of what channel on SIRIUS sounds bad, then you have a valid argument. Upload an MP3 of at least 192Kpbs so we all can hear (use yousendit.com).

k thanks.

no prob will do give me a few days to get a few compare and conrast songs

I am very surprised more people have not been making an issue out of this. I received the 'Starmate Replay' for Christmas and the first thing I noticed is that the audio quality is absolutely HORRIBLE!! The music channels sound like a mediocre quality internet stream, the talk stations (including Howard) sound like AM quality!!... I thought, at first, it was the FM transmitter built in to the unit, but when I listen directly from the audio output jack, it sounds the same...

Is this just the way sirius satellite sounds??? If so, how can it be the wave of the future when the audio is inferior to FM and CD's???

Hissing Noise???

Just got my Sirius receiver, and I had a question in regards to the audio quality; I'm getting a high-pitched 'hissing' noise, especially on the talk radio stations. I'm positive this is coming from my car, but not sure how to get rid of it. Does anybody else have this problem?

Are you using the FM modulator?
