Imus and Black Athlete !!!

Imus clearly said Pacman was being harrassed simply because of his race. Some people listen only with the ears, while the brain is disengaged.

Who gives a bleep what he says? How does what he says damage anyone? This stuff has gotten so ridiculous. Personally, anyone could say anything they want about my race, my ethnicity, etc, and I wouldn't give a damn. I'm too busy trying to earn a living and get on with my life to be bothered with it. This super sensitiivity and political correctness is off the charts.

I agree that Imus was not making a racial slur, but he just has to avoid the whole subject. There are people waiting to pounce on any remark that he makes concerning race. The Rutgers remark has just made race a forbidden topic for him and that's his own fault. As soon as I heard him say it, I thought that he'd be in trouble again.

that just proves what a dope imus is. if you're going to defend someone because, like you, you believe they're being wrongly targeted, pacman would be last person you want to use as an example. this story will be going away quickly. you have two rotten individuals involved. there's no good vs. evil plotline here. cable tv news cant sell a story like that. even drudge who despises imus won't link to it. more pregnant teens, please...

There was a time in Imus' career when he would have told Sharpton et al. to take a long walk off a short pier. I guess he's gotten as afraid of the PC police as so many others have.

And no, it's not his fault that race is a forbidden topic. It's the fault of Sharpton, Jackson et al. who have nothing better to do with their lives than lie in wait for whitey to screw up. Why he lets himself be pushed around by these race baiters is beyond me.
 
Who cares? Imus gets paid to say stupid things, its why people (not me) listen to him. Did you listen to that show when it happend Rapking, or are you just outraged because someone told you to be?

There's a huge difference between this and the Rutgers event. This is and was nothing. The media is perpetuating the whole PC crap so much that noboday will be able to say anything soon.

The real trouble here is that Imus ceased being "professional" at least 10 years ago. His style and flippant comments constantly get him into hot water and not in a good way. This latest flap could have easily been averted with a quick follow-up comment at the time. But no, he just let it drop. And this happened not long after the whole Rutgers thing that got him fired. Come on, why be stupid? The comment wasn't funny; but then again, nor is Imus. Not anymore.

Not to mention that he's now being sued by an advertiser for $4MM because he botched a live read, made fun of the sponsor and called them "bastards." You may not like what they're selling, but it is unprofessional as hell to do that. Face it, Imus is a hack who should have retired in about 1999. It's sad because he was great back in the 70s and early 80s.
