Imus has been tried twice and failed both times. He's not coming back.

Opie and Anthony. There's quality entertainment for you. I hear their syndicated show is a heavily-edited version of their satellite show, delayed by a day. I can't see placing them anywhere in this market. Perhaps if a hot talk station came along, but otherwise where would they fit in?

Whoopi will be history within a year or less, once the novelty of doing a four hour morning show starting at 5am wears off with her. The David Lee Roth debacle should have demonstrated that you can't shoehorn "celebrities" into a daily radio show. And again, where could you place her in this market?

Stern was on WQXA-fm so they may air O & A. clear channel could air Whoopi on one of their stations. IMUS likely will not air in central Pa. again. Hopefully, people like Mancow, Greaseman and others won't either!

maybe clear channel would try Whoopi on WHKF-FM-99.3. and --have you heard David Lee Roth & Micky Dolenz will start an am-drive show nationally in the fall? (sorry--- just joking!!!!!)

Wellll, Premiere, a division of Clear Channel, is syndicating Whoopi, and they will be looking at CC stations for clearances, but the choices in Harrisburg are limited to one: 99.3. Think they'll shuffle WHP, the River or Bob for Whoopi? Not likely. But it would be insane to place her on 99.3 as it is now. She would be an awful fit on a CHR station and in no way relate to their audience. Perhaps if they re-tooled 99.3 to Hot AC, maybe.

Here's an interesting quote, straight from the CC press release: “Radio is an area I have always wanted to play in,” said Goldberg. Hmmm. Let's see how she feels once she discovers just how much "work" goes into the area she wants to "play" in.

O&A's CBS is aired live, in real time, over XM. It is not tape delayed. Just wanted to verify.

As far as the b-b-b-boys coming to Central PA.....at this point, THINK CITADEL. Fahrid is good friends with O&A and is a known enemy of Hoo Hoo Stern.

Really???! CBS is airing them "live???!" After the sex-in-a-church fiasco???! Bill Paley must be spinning in his grave! Seriously, I thought I'd heard that their XM show was being edited for content and delayed until the next day, when it was fed to affiliates. I must have been misinformed. Thanks for the correction.

As for O&A showing up on the X: WQXA had an excellent spring book, up in all three metros. Why screw with that? And they'd be a real train wreck on the other Citadel stations. Of course, owners who like to dabble in programming have been known to do all sorts of goofy things, just because their wife/mother/kids/golf buddy/minister/girlfriend/some-client who-hasn't-spent-a-dime-in-years wanted to hear it, so anything is possible.
