Imus? Anybody???

So this morning I mount up and head for town and punch 106.7. For the third time, I hear the news guy tell me MArk Felt was Deep Throat. For the tird time, I'm told xmas is coming soon, buy the CD. For the third time, the sports guy brags up 34 bowl games and he's gonna guess the score of one of them correctly.
They aren't bush league over there. They're sand lot. It's a shame.

A friend, who is a regular Imus listener, said they are now editing the "Imus Show" for Atlanta. They only play 4-5 minute Imus bits and then play more of your least favorite oldies.
How do you "edit" Don Imus???
Sounds to me like a recipe for disaster. Either you like Imus or you don't. If you are a fan you don't want to hear an "edit" version - if you don't like 'em then you don't want to hear ANY Imus.
Is ClearChannel running Citadel now??? Are there now no limits to broadcast incompetence??

If they were editing it, one could at least form an opinion of the edit. They're replaying the same dam' one over and over. It would insult my intelligence, assuming I had any. But, for the first time in 25 years, the 106.7 button iis in danger of being replaced with something else. I expect we will see those limits you mention imposed by creditor covenants being imposed this quarter. What affect they might have is open toquestion.

This morning, two busted songs, part of what might of been a decent interview, and they';re toast. Upstaged by an Israel Kamakawiwo'ole CD. Gotta admit, ol' Iz had the definitive version of 'Country Roads.'

Let's see, listeners are bitching because of Imus edits and 106.7 is playing more music in his place. I thought you wanted music in the morning which they are giving Atlanta. What's the problem? If the Imus edits are bad address that and not the station as a whole. True Oldies is the best thing in Atlanta radio giving the city one of the best oldies outlet. It's certainly better than F0X-97 and Kool ever hoped to be. Stop bitching and be glad you have a terrific oldies station.

Amlover, would you want somebody editing you? If your going to pick it up then play it. Who chooses what they play of Imus? Is it somebody in the demo or some 20 year old board opp that has no clue who Imus is?

C'mon, whomever is completely f***ing up the Imus show, stop it. Decide if you're going to play the interviews or not. Even an intern can do it with Cool Edit. What's the point of playing the most boring parts of the whole show and leave out the signature part of the show? Jeez...spots for 5+ minutes at the top of the hour, then Imus just gets started with his banter when you cut him off to play a few oldies, then another disjointed piece of banter? The only stand alone pieces are the interviews! Crap people, college radio has more formatics that this abomination.
