Imus Attacks Jay Severin

I've never heard him say. But the other day he was bragging about how he gave someone the hime-lick manuever at a restuarant in Sag Harbor, NY.

Laura Ingram's voice sounds exactly like the female equivalent of Howard Stern. Same nasal New York irritation but without Howard's broadcast experience.
Worse than that, however, Laura's show suffers badly from the "I'm the first person in the history of this medium to ever play a sound bite" syndrome. This is usually the result of someone being on the radio who never was on the radio before. And obviously she's being told she's brilliant and original in playing bites. She's a tedious bore.

Laura is angry? I think "mrcklw" is the angry one. Laura is not the least bit angry. She is having a blast as she has returned from a great trip to Iraq. Her show is humorous and fun. She is loving life right now. It is the Janeane the Buffalo and Al Franken Fraud and Scary Randi Rhodes (whoever she is) who are the shrill angry ones. They are so miserable. Nothing is right in the world with them. They hate lfe and are so put upon . Laura is not the angry one at all. She is conquering breast cancer, continuing success on the radio, and loving her exciting life. She is not shrill or angry. That is how you describe Scare America No Listeners Radio. You don't have to like her show if you don't want to, but your classless remarks about Laura are absolutely baseless.

Like ann coulter, Laura Ingraham has to play up some form of "masculinity" to play up to the knuckle draggers who listen because:

1) Duh...she's hot...(their view not mine)
2) She agrees with their backwards / out of date thinking
3) She likes to insult rather than educate...so the Stern soundalike makes sense...she doesn't leave the knuckle draggers who like her in the dust like Randi who is way smarter and a policy wonk and Stephanie who is just really honestly funny (and smart).
 
What I don't understand is how the suits at Infinity got it in their heads that Severin was the Next Great Hope of talk radio, to the point where they would shove aside a lot of other hosts to make room for him. Same deal with Phil Valentine at Cumulus; both are OK hosts for what they're doing, I suppose, but I wouldn't call either the Next Big Thing...

Anyone got a theory on this?

Please...let's drop the political whizzing match here. This is not about politics - this is about the ability to entertain on the radio. Look - it just so happens I am so conservative on most issues that I make you guys look like a bunch of New Dealers, but when I listen to the radio, I listen for entertaining, stimulating, compelling commentary, not to have my views validated.

Clearly, Ingraham is for people who prefer the latter. If you're a conservative who wants someone to validate and confirm your fears and prejudices and don't care if the person doing so is not the least bit compelling or fun to listen to...then I guess someone like Ingraham would be right up your alley. THAT she does very well...

Lee- (I'm assuming this is you) In case you haven't noticed, this board is dominated with the .5 share that actually listens to AAR.

Laura has the b**ls to go to Iraq and find out what's really going on rather than sitting in a studio bitching about the war. Her reporting was some of the best radio I have ever heard. And NO it was not an apologist puff-peice for the Bush administration.

I prayed for Laura during her cancer ordeal. Prayer is something we hicks and rednecks do here in the Midwest.

Take Care and put on the asbestos suit. I have mine on so flame away.

you really have alot of nerve. you sit around here posting insults all day under 10 different names. While people like Severin (like it or not) are out working on a daily basis. I know you never even listened to Severin when he was local! no...you were sitting on hold waiting to talk to Howie's "Chump Line" or maybe sitting around in your underwear clapping at everything Al Frankin has to say. If you listened to WTKK AT ALL you would know Severin was a regular on the Imus show, in fact it was Imus who slipped that Severin was going national!

This same "he won't last" crap has been said over and over again already about Imus,Barnical,O'Rielly and now (again) Severin...Did I miss the michael Gram stuff yet??

when YOUR national deal comes through I'll value your "im always right" opinion. until then keep working on the public access TV,sueing people for nothing ,answering your own posts with different names and web blogging.
