Imus Canned By WFAN-CBS Radio

Now what is little KCCA 1050 Loma Linda going to do for 6am-9am? It is the only station that ran Imus in southern california. Oh well, they can just sell the time to "paid" shows. They fill up the ballance of the entire broadcast day for that station anyway.

Could not pick up that signal in Hollywood. Had to stream
his show for the last couple of days. He actually had
Janice's husband from the Sopranos on yesterday. And this
morning I heard a few minutes and his was doing a cancer
fund-raiser. I thought--genius. Let's get the sympathy
vote.

Guess it didn't work.

We'll have to see what CBS/Westwood One offers as a replacement. Barring that, KTLK has a poor enough early morning signal in the I.E. to where Stephanie Miller would fit very nicely in the 6-9am slot.

Actually, the radiothon had been scheduled for quite some time before the recent scandal.

It's still going to air Friday morning with an Imus, his wife and his newscaster.

I disagree and besides as you know by now, they have replaced Imus in New York with WFAN's midday crew

Wonder who KCAA will put in that slot?

Here is your reply:

And, frankly, if I had an AM station and could afford him I'd hire Imus. Love him or hate him he's a moneymaker with a loyal audience. This incident will be forgotten, replaced by another controversy and a chastened (but not totally reformed) Imus will be back on the air in some form. The only possible snag is his recently renewed contract with CBS which runs for 5 years. If he can be released from that then he will, of course, be a free agent.

There is some talk of Imus, possibly, migrating to satellite radio. But that would have to wait till after the merger hearing is over.
