IMUS GONE!!! BREAKING NEWS!! NOW WHAT????

:eek: Holy Moly! Looks like Free Beer and Hot Wings for the Nassau Vermont properties...SNO who cares, sorry John-boy...How's the drive from Quechee? wink-wink! This is a very good move for the local airwaves. My big girlfriend at cc and I are lookin' at some huge discounts in spot rates on WHDQ for clients who were paying top dollar! Come on Miller Auto Mornings!!! woo-hoo! Not to mention you gotta love the shake up as the spring book gets underway. Let's just say more listeners to 93.9 and 101.7!! Hot Dog! ;) and I must say the buzz is lookin' good from up here on the farm in Sharon! Let's hope that well-done can finish his luke warm soup and Shaw's picked apple without getting heartburn on what to do next!! Quick somebody call 911!!

Imus' firing is utterly ridiculous. Can you say agenda, and lynching ? Will CBS and MSNBC replace their morning shows with African American hosts ? Right, doubt it. Should rap music be banned as well over the public airwaves ? What Imus did was wrong, lets face it, the aftermath was a carefully plotted agenda to make an example.

Will the I-Dude and company join his old boss, Mel Karmazin, at Sirious with Howard ? When Howard left, the ratings and revenues hit the toilet.. Imus' show pulled a very long revenue freight train for WFAN and many of the Imus affiliates that knew how to sell the show. Q106 is (was) one of them, as was WNHW in Concord.

Pretty bleeping sad.. Free Beer and Hot Wings, hideous no talent boring local morning shows. Hopefully yhe soon to be ex-Imus affiliates will be creative and inventive with the potential opportunity before them. Please no "Bob and Toms" "and Free Beer and Hot Wings.. Wannabees compared to what's left of the real deal syndicated morning shows..
 
This is such a joke. The media piled on him for over a week. A recent poll showed 65% of the public supported Imus. Another great talent driven from radio soon to be on XM

Westwood One, the syndicator of the Imus show is putting Boston Talk Host Mike Barnacle on through at least April 27th.
 
Trying to think of all the affiliates Imus had at least in the northeast; you can't find a list of them on the W1 site since he's disappeared
totally from it, as far as I could see. Offhand (he had roughly 60 though a few dumped him just before
the network did including Bangor's I-95)

There are ways of finding those old pages... I don't know the exact website but it has something do to with Internet Archive Database or something like that. I'll revise this post if I can retrieve the info.
 
I wrote a lengthy post on the Boston message board concerning D.I. and "the 2 messengers of God" who demanded his removal!

I'm also more than a little confused about the difference between verbally chastizing a group of women on a talk show...as opposed to vocally putting them down in the lyrics of a rap or alternative song?

Would someone care to explain the difference to me? Or better yet....CAN THEY? ???
