Imus In The Evening, Too!

Starting this week, Fox Business Network is now airing a nightly "best of" the same day's "Imus in the Morning" every night at 10 PM. They call it "Imus in the Evening."

I guess they can only run Dave Ramsey and Neil Cavuto so many times...

I've been hearing Imus doing commercial reads on WABC (for some new mystery book) and he sounds horrible. Mush mouthed and incoherent. I know the guy's a legend, but come on. Sounds almost as bad as Howard when his dentures come loose.

Imus is a smart guy. I missed him after he was fired--and am happy he's back. I don't think that ratpack described earlier--Andrea Mitchell and Frank Rich were nerds in high school--I think they were the bossy teachers' pets who laughed when others got into trouble for passing notes. Imus has chops without having to pretend. He reads extensively and with perception and insight--he knows a good book whether its topic is celebrity, autism, history, politics, philosophy or sports. He is engaged and engaging--I came to appreciate the candid way he discusses things without fear or the cringeworthy suck-ups I see in other so-called interviewers and journalists. He isn't afraid of asking the obvious--very hard question--the elephant-in-the-room question--and ridiculing the absurd spinners. I am GLAD he's also on in the evenings now when I can actually watch the entire show.

Actually, it's a one-hour compilation of the best segments from that day's four-hour show, but I get where you're coming from, Kate!

I noticed that Fox Business has recently went back to showing a replay of "America's Nightly Scoreboard" in the 10 PM hour and ditched "Imus In The Evening." Perhaps this is one of the recent moves made by Fox Business, among others, as they appear to look to ramp up their competition against CNBC. More on the National TV board...
