Imus in the Morning Show

Hello,

We used to be HUGE WGMS fans; now we catch the classical music on WETA and listen daily to WTOP—both stations/towers are close enough to our Cathedral Ave. condo for us to get clear reception.

We were just informed by “new oldies, 105.9” that they canceled the Imus in the Morning show as of yesterday. Comcast also informed us that even though they have a contract with RFD-TV, they will not carry the Imus show, not even On Demand. It’s a political thing. But to none of their knowledge, apparently, he still has a HUGE audience nationwide, even bigger than before he was off the air a year or so ago.

We are asking if you all are interested in picking him up? If not, have you heard rumors of any other local radio station picking up this great show? Like WMAL?

Please respond. Thanks.

They yanked the entire station's format... where have you been?

Oh, and yeah, that "New Oldies 105.9" really wasn't getting any traction in the ratings...

they did that up here in providence months ago and replaced it with business talk probrobly because it was on an am here!!! but i belive they kept imus inthe morning thats strange how they took him off down there, maybe if you have an fm talk station he could end up there in boston hes on 96.9 fm talk wtkk so that may be a possibility

he still has a HUGE audience nationwide

And you got that idea, reasoning or fact from where? Or are you just a fan?

In the scheme of things, you would be sorrily incorrect. Imus left "huge audience" status when he left W-ENNNNNN-Bee-Cee. Multi-million salaries from "friends" like Farid Suleman don't guarantee star quality or, for that matter, success. WMAL to carry the I-Man? Not with a $.06 a share stock value for it's parent, Citadel. Sorry.

RFD was so bad and making so little (if any) money that an "amicable" split sent Imus looking to the equally as poor (21,000 viewers) two year old FOX Business Channel starting the first week of October. The business-oriented Imus. The best to you each morning!
