Imus is dead

Fired from radio yes... but don't hold the wake yet. The I-man will land on XMius without missing a beat. They (or someone else) will pay him the same millions he gets now. His radiothon will pick up where it left off. He may even get higher ratings.

One thing certain: after all these years on mostly secondary AM signals--pulling ones and twos--everyone finally knows who he is.

At one time, 1100 was one of those mostly secondary stations. Back around 1993-94, BCM (Before Chuck Meyer).

I heard that XM and Sirius will not pick up Imus, because they can't afford to invest that kind of money into talent at the moment.

A bad day to stumble across the title of this thread. Just caught wind of the deaths at Virginia Tech and then I see the title "IMUS IS DEAD." Whoa! With the world as crazy as it is, I expected this to be in the literal sense! The Imus STORY is dead for now. The world's focus is now on yet another group of college students and their families. Incredible. Unbelievable.
