Imus Returning to TV via Fox Business Network

I guess I'll ask the obvious question: WHY?

I would think that people who want to watch business news in the mornings would not be interested in a simulcast of any talk radio show -- unless said show focused primarily on economic issues.

If this happens, I imagine it'd be a big win... for CNBC and Bloomberg.

Does FBN have an audience or is this a last ditch effort to acquire one?

My admittedly uninformed guess is that they're still trying to acquire one. Things I've read shows audience numbers in the single digit thousands. I would think Imus would draw at least that many, if only to see if he says something that gets him in trouble again.

As new, and low-rated, as FBN is...

The subject header here is, technically, incorrect. Imus has been on TV since he came back with Citadel, on the RFD TV network. Though, you could perhaps say because RFD has little cable carriage...being even on FBN would be "returning to TV" vs. being on RFD...

The story, supposedly, is that RFD is hanging on by a thin financial thread. Oddly enough, I believe our local TWC system has added them as part of an overall deal.

Imus has slipped pretty badly, and is ill. Fox must be using him as a stopgap on the way to something else- and soon.
