Imus: Right Church, Wrong Pew

Bad timing. That's all it was. Had Imus saved his 'Nappy-headed Ho' comment for FIVE days and used it to describe Ms. Nifong (aka CRYSTAL GAIL MANGUM), he'd still have his radio show. Not that it matters, because I hate Imus anyway for swindling money from people for his mansion in New Mexico by saying it was for 'underprivileged kids.'

But for want of FIVE days and a different target, Imus could have saved himself.

ChrisNH, be careful with defaming people. Do you have proof that he's swindled people with the ranch?

OK. So maybe 'swindled' is the wrong word. But where do you think he's going to be living when all is said and done?

Over 700 different kids have stayed at the ranch, some more than once. Imus and his wife are hands on operators and act as parents to the kids for their 9 day stay.

It is hard work he did not have to take on. Plus getting up at 3:30 New Mexico time to do a four hour show. Then deal with kids all day long. And you say swindle?

How many kids have Sharpton or Jackson provided for?

Swindled is not correct. I assume the ones who promoted books on his program, perhaps did donate to the ranch.

I know McCain, now he is a swindler, look at the banking system he almost brought down, Greenspan's wife and he also have a barn named after them.

The ranch is real, and underpriviliged terminally ill kiddos do attend.

Well:

A. It is a huge tax write off and someone making ten million dollars a year needs write offs and shelters in order to keep any of it.

B. It has been reported that some years the kids were only on site for some nine, to fifteen days of the YEAR, leaving Imus, his brother Fred, and family to reside on the ranch the other three hundred plus if they chose to. When the IRS has been alerted to the situation by guys like Stern who clearly have an agenda, Imus obviously has been protected by some of his establishment friends. YOu dont get to kknow so many politicians and receeive so many corproate donations from big biz without collecting some protective relationships.

He's done some good with the ranch but let us not nominate him for sainthood just yet on that score.

You say Imus was "obviously" protected. Give some proof.

Imus is certainly looking for attention by kicking sand in the face of young girls - white and black.
We know that. Even IF his ranch is a tax shelter he is doing better work with the ranch than
Stern or Opie & Anthony or Mike Savage. Also, a man like Imus has the accountants to follow the rules,
so he doesn't need "protection." A certain program director in Boston was known to tuck away a number
of CDs to local retailers. Did he follow the rules in the 20 years of that enterprise? Does his "foundation", such as it is, do as much charitable work as Imus does? Or does it fund his trips to Thailand allegedly for more "college" education?

A multi-millionaire taking a "college" course in Thailand for 3 months! Wow, they must really have a great study course if you can cram it all into 90 days. Providing, of course, you are actually going there for schooling and not something nefarious. Craggy old men like Imus and the soon-to-be 58 year old former
PD are all fair game in the public eye.

Enabling one culprit while bashing Imus is pure hypocrisy.
