IMUS SHOW OPEN

Was wondering if anyone knew how long Imus has opened with "Tom Sawyer" and what else he used prior to that and in the past?

I wonder if he uses that because he hung out with the original Tom Sawyer on a raft in the Mississippi in the 1800's... when he was a teenager.

Couldn't resist!

Rimshot for WNTI!

I'm certain that Imus used the Rush song for his hour-opening intro ever since he started with Rush "flagship" (in quotes because Limbaugh is in Florida) WABC.

Back in the days of WnBC he used "Put it Where You Want It," which was recorded originally (I think) by Nino and April Tempo, but he used an instrumental version of it which MIGHT have been by the Commodores. (The Commodores have a live version on one of their CDs, but that wasn't it on the show.) He used that song mostly as a closer. He was never there early enough for an open.
