Imus Sounds Great

Nice to have him back - big lineup for the first day McCain, Dodd, Carville and Matalin

How about his monolog!!! That was the most heart felt speech I've ever heard. I'd hope his distractors would also take it as genuine.

Agreed! I'm watching on rfdtv and there are the few expected glitches to work out
but all in all he's allayed my concerns regarding whether his backbone would slip.
Now I'm waiting for his detractors to chime in and hope they'll begin any diatribe
by stating why they tuned him in to begin with.

What tired, worn out, mumbling, forced, non-funny, uncompelling radio. We waited 8 months for this? Pity the poor people of Citadel who are on the unemployment line today, paying for Imus salary, while the company stock is just over $2.00 a share. Something is wrong with radio. Something very very wrong.

Same old radio s***.

Re: Imus Sounds Great (He Did)

He sounded old and confused to me. Why do so many people like this program?? Chris Dodd kissing up to him was funny because if they asked Dodd to speak on the Rutgers issue he would have probably torn into Imus.

Oh well enjoy the hate filled talk Imus Fans.

ps:Yes there are now 2 Black people on the show and their resumes don't impress me at all.

Imus did a super job. He will end up being a BIG asset to WABC.

Nobody who disliked his show before will suddenly become a convert, but for the many who
have listened to Imus over the years (and others who appeciate political talk with a dose of humor)
will be glad to hear that he's returned in fine form.

As to the glitches, its to be expected. Early in 1997 MSNBC simply rolled the cameras for nearly all 180 minutes straight! Nothing like getting to watch PRO radio jocks and news people (not use to cameras) sitting around and scratching themselves during comm-breaks! But one thing DID become clear, RFD-TV is running their own delay and chopping anything that is slightly hot! During he MEA COPA, he had a small spot of dead are on TV. But I noticed it happened again when his new sidekick did that small standup routine. I turned up WABC.COM and heard the words "bad ass" her reference to NY people crossing the street. Fairly tame for modern radio but possibly not right for a network geared for rural, family values. See if it continues.

He said nothing much has changed while he was off. This thread shows he's right. Those who liked him before, still like him. Those who didn't like him before, still don't.

He got a long vacation. He got a lot of attention. And he probably made money off the deal. The Rev Al should be proud of what he did for the I-man.

He is a monolog. As in dead wood.

Care to disclose an identity for this funny lady, for those who were not able to hear (or watch) the program this morning?

So you're the one? How's the NFL Network looking?

Yes, I'm the one and feel extremely flattered that this man would go to such lengths
as to program both a radio and television show just to little old me. Did'ja get a look
at his live audience? A bunch of shuffling stumble bums who spent their last hundred
bucks to be there. I don't think so. Desirable by anyone's standards.

As for those who say he's in his death throes what on air talent would chose a better
way to do his earthly exit than slumped over the mic while a Loomis armored truck
waited outside to transport his wallet behind his limo.

Rfd is gonna find out that a huge portion of it's audience is tired of beating it's plowshares into swords and have heard words like "ass" before and have, as a
matter of fact, heard many asses speak.

Get used to it...5 years! Change the channel or throw dirt over your dead horse.

yeah it starts with *ss and gets worse from there.....give him enough rope and he will hang himself again......

Garbage doesn't belong on the airwaves...

I listened to some of the Mccain interview, but I didnt hear if Charles is back. Does anyone know if he is or did I just miss hearing him?

He's back and sounded like he's working for the paycheck and kissing up to the I-Man as usual. I think he ad-libs the news of the moment.

Charles McCord and Lou the engineer are back with Imus. I'm not certain if McGuirk was there.

I went to the WABC web site and streamed audio from the Imus show this morning. I have to say I have missed not hearing the guy on the radio.

Welcome back Imus.

Welcome back Imus.

I tuned into the internet feed from WABC as well. Imus introduced everybody at about 5 minutes into the show, Including McGuirk. But I'm not surprised that you didn't hear it. It's difficult not to zone out when you hear Imus. At 6:08 he started playing blue grass country music. It's at that very moment I thanked the lord for providing me with Sirius Radio. I then quickly tuned into Stern. Imus is back and he sounds just as boring as he did before.

everybody is back -including larry kenny and rob bartlett. karith foster is a stand up comedian, as well as the sports guy. pat powell. although i think he was a little weak. good to hear imus and chuck back on the radio.

Sounded great yesterday, but today is pathetic! Nobody can hear each other. 40 minutes into the program before Lou can talk to Imus, Chuck sounds like he is a mile away from any microphone, phone interview doesn't work...

Here is the most listened to news/talk station in the USA. And they don't check the equipment before the show begins? Of course, RFD will get all of the blame, but WABC has more to lose if this gig does not work. I cannot believe the poor engineering quality.

I'm an unabashed Imus fan but the first 3 hrs this morn were one big clusfu. At
first I was bitchin' at rfd before they let it be known that the crap-outs were on
abc's end and I bet the engineer who overslept gets a damn good whackin'.

Obverservations of the positives...Imus didn't lose his temper although you could
see steam comin' out of his ears. The chick can be pretty funny and the dude,
after appearing sleepy eyed and absent yesterday perked up, apparently after
getting some props from his friends as to what kind of company he has the chance
to dance with.

Dr Phil was funny as hades although that's not a fave character of mine but he
was all up in rfd's programming partnership with Imus. Now we'll find out if the
pres of rfd can take a joe polka joke.
