Imus to replace Hal Jay

Made ya look. Do you think this is a possibility??? ???

NO! Don Imus is a Northeast/Liberal icon...if WBAP cans Hal ratings will tank and tank hard! Citadel is not that stupid or are they?

It will be interesting to see how Imus has changed. Will he lean a little more conservative after being "hanged" by the liberal left.

OK...

1. Jeff, you suck. Making us news/talk habitues have a mild cardiac like that. Geesh. ;)

2. In a word, no. Citadel is not CBS. I would think they know a good thing when they hear it (him) and see it (the ratings).

3. Wherever Imus and his raggedy cowboy hat lands, I would bet your money he goes more acquiescent than anything. Being polarizing got him paid... but got him fired. Being Caspar Milquetoast may not go well with the rank and file, but it will keep him able to offer his agonizing, "upper-brow" (eh?) shock value.

That's kinda harsh VdV... I thought we were buds. Sorry about the cardiac.

Why wouldn't it happen on WBAP if it's happening, officially, on WABC and KABC (L.A.)? How else will Citadel get a return on investment if it doesn't put Imus on all of its news/talk stations??? Maybe Hal will wind up at KRLD or KLIF?

Hal Jay is a proven equity. Citadel is not a person, management here will make any changes there if there a reason, or need... and for sure Imus is an equity that many GMS would like to have in their corporate arsenal. You all talk like corporations make all the decisions. All companies are not run like Clear Channel.

;D ;D

This is actually not that far-fetched. If they could get rid of Hal and Sean in the mornings and bring in a min wage board-monkey to run a syndicated show that might actually make fiscal sense. They have already made a few budget cuts and from what I've hear they've even taken away holiday pay.

With all the cash the morning show brings in (LOTS of spots/sponsors to this ear) why oh why would they send Hal/Sean packing???
Also...what cuts have you heard/seen? I don't notice anything on air.....but I'm not a huge P1.
