Okay...5 days back in the broadcasting saddle. The technical problems seem to be pretty much worked out. The cast is assembled, some good guests this week...so what's everybody think???

It was a good move for WABC, the shows is great, good content, excellent guests and the TV set looks great.
Well I'll be hornswoggled! Over two hrs and no naysayers! Imus is back and hope we
can keep saying "with a vengeance".
There is no greater, more penetrating voice for the welfare of vets in this great country, than this man. I don't care if he was just a bugle player. I hope he continues to blow taps over the miscreants and evildoers everywhere.

Further proof that NYC radio will continue to suck. The old radio listeners (which are fewer every year) insist on the same old talent and the same old bits while the younger people seek and find alternative sources of entertainment.
My prediction: Things will get much worse before it gets better, if it gets better.

It tells me that its has to do with the number of shares available, the overall company outlook, and
the lingering impact of the ABC purchase.
It has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with how Imus' show has gone after 5 days.
You need to study about the market. But your comment gave me a chuckle. And no, Imus would not be a sole factor for their woes- but it won't help either.
The Citadel "brain trust" think IMUS will be the answer to their financial woes. I-Man is being counted on to bring in revenue to help pay back the investors who made the ABC deal possible.
In the meantime, more and more slicing and dicing of other Citadel employees in other markets is probably going to have to happen.

Yeah John...I think it's the 25-35 year old talents that have the problem of Same Old Shi*
Nothing but the usual Man/Woman/Gay Intern team that babbles on about nothing. People want information with a little of comedy, not alot of not funny comedy and little information.

I am not optimistic about this.
I have listened to and loved the I-man since the 70s on W-NNNNNNN-B-C. In the 80s when they had the I-man, Soupy and Howard, I had the radio on all day.
I was listening (actually watching) Imus up to the time they pulled the plug. I listened this week, too. Same act. Same shtick but the magic was gone.
For one thing, I've gotten used to live without Imus. I've found other things to do in the morning. More often than not, comebacks don't work.
Secondly, I lost a lot of respect for I-mess from the way he handled the whole situation last spring. He caved. He groveled. The I-man I knew did not cave or grovel. The I-man I knew would have fought outrageously. It was sad to see.
Maybe it would have helped if I'd just listened to Imus on the radio in recent years. On MSNBC he seemed increasingly old, especially sitting alone at the ranch when everybody else was in Secaucus or Astoria. And I was getting sick of Imus spending so much promoting his own little projects. Sometimes the show turned into an "I-fomercial."
This week it was sounding like the show was being done for those parts of the country were people watch the RFD network, not for New York.
It's over. I only wish Imus could have gone out on top.
